Hey
Stop me if this is a stupid offer, I'm still trying to figure out how this whole thing works, but
I heard about the whole gate problem, and the whole simulation thing, there's probably more going on too that I don't know about yet
I'm an engineer
You guys might already have a few, but just in case you're shorthanded
If there's anything I can do to help, I want to
I can also apparently do a weird tools thing now so that's
something
edit: if anyone's in the market for crazy experiments in there
you guys glitch the sim when you do your chest thing, right?
anyone tried organizing a group glow-off? overwhelm the system with too much at once, DDOS it into crashing?

@kyna.medina
please fuck up the simulation though
i'm going nuts

Unfortunately I'm not quite up to par with manipulating futuristic neural implant mesh technology because either I smoked too much pot in college or because it's way beyond what we had when I'm from
I take it you're stuck in there
no subject
and maybe you're not up to date with the neural implant tech because it fucking sucks
what do you mean you didn't glow hard enough?
no subject
might have been one of those 'clap your hands if you believe in faeries' situations but I didn't clap enough and Tinkerbell died
more realistically it's gonna take something else to get them powered again, but I'll accept constructive criticism if it's failure to glow

you know how Jesus turned water into wine
well it's like that except with flat head and Philips head screwdrivers
drill bits, too
screws to nails
pennies into copper wire
I like to think I'm gonna single-handedly save the world by changing the size of a socket wrench one day

@roxas.sky
but if they do i'm in
breaking our way out of here sounds like a great idea to me
no subject
doesn't seem like it could do any harm to try it, though, right? if someone wants to take the initiative, anyway.
no subject
maybe you'll inspire someone.
personally i've just been tempted to start smashing things here.
it's what i did the last time something like this happened to me.
[Did it help him escape? No. But did it make him feel better? Also no.]

but i used to watch dean work on the car a lot?
if you need someone to hand you tools, i can do that
[ can you tell he's desperate to help in any way he can? because he is. ]

how are you at holding flashlights?

Though please, I'd like to hear a bit more about this engineering thingy you've got going on.
no subject
I'd love to tell you all about my engineering thingy
can you start me off with how much you know about it in general, just a quick summary, so I don't start accidentally mansplaining
no subject
So, consider it less mansplaining, and more mortalsplaining.
We aren't all from the same corner of the multiverse, you know.
Thus "thingy."

@david.washington
The glitches are unreliable but I do think we should try to work with them.
no subject
Unless he's specifically partitioned you guys somehow, is your mesh implant any different from a standard implant? any unique signifiers he could use to isolate you into clusters?
your statistical likelihood goes up massively with a bunch of people recreating the bug at one time, like
if you've ever spawned a thousand mudcrabs or radroaches
that's like a console game reference, I don't know if
that
translates well
no subject
AI are incredibly powerful at certain things, I feel like he would've tweaked things so we couldn't glitch it anymore. In here we didn't even have access to our implants at first, it was like they weren't there.

Not just tools, piece parts too
I can reshape things, as long as they're not too large
which means if you give me scrap I can give you back supplies, as long as it's not too complicated
no subject
I imagine with practice, you will be able to increase the span or size of the shape shifting. Our powers grow over time.

@william.clayton-queen
I read about your weird tools thing, so, I don't need to ask what that means.
Your DDOS idea, though, I had it too. Proving or producing our glow could be uncontrollable, with what happens inside or outside. If we glow in this, are we glowing outside.
But, I thought about other ways to work a glitch. If we could find one that's physical. A wall where there isn't a wall - even mentally - something we could exploit, that could help, too. Especially, if we all exploited it at the same time. Your guess is unfortunately as good as mine as to what that glitch is.
Next to our glow, I'd wonder if offing ourselves glitches anything. People have died here, right? Only to wake up back in bed? Mass suicide is too dark, right?
no subject
glowing outside the city, though, nobody would see it right? nobody's awake and nobody can get in, so it's just that one guy on our side running around?
I could be wrong, I haven't been there yet unfortunately
Your wall without a wall idea - would that be meant to obstruct simulted-people pathing? Like, throw it into a place where there are a dozen programmed, scripted bots who all take a specific route all forced to recalculate at one time?
no subject
Nobody but Tony, if he's there. Because, everything in New Amsterdam is blocked from the field of view.
That's not a bad idea, if the simulated robots all have that path every day. Have you noticed a pattern like that? I was thinking an old-time glitch. There's always a corner, or a wall that's not where a character can disappear into or get stuck. Like, 90's era bugs. But, bugs or glitches like that don't break a game, they just usually kill a character. Maybe if we tracked the bot migration. If it is that specific and timed. Technically, we are all, too. We're given times to return inside, to show up for the crap job they assigned us...
We have to break the system put into place on an epic scale.
