Hey
Stop me if this is a stupid offer, I'm still trying to figure out how this whole thing works, but
I heard about the whole gate problem, and the whole simulation thing, there's probably more going on too that I don't know about yet
I'm an engineer
You guys might already have a few, but just in case you're shorthanded
If there's anything I can do to help, I want to
I can also apparently do a weird tools thing now so that's
something
edit: if anyone's in the market for crazy experiments in there
you guys glitch the sim when you do your chest thing, right?
anyone tried organizing a group glow-off? overwhelm the system with too much at once, DDOS it into crashing?

with an entire city frozen by a single disingenuous entity that has the power to pull it off, I can't say I plan to be particularly trusting of anything that comes from one right now
I'm extremely aware that my scope is limited and my mind is open to changing that opinion
However, other hand my immediate theory about the reason why all of this may be happening is fucking terrifying and it's taking precedence in my head right now

[ she can't say she doesn't find that reasonable and while she is interested in ian's theory she doesn't ask, this is opening enough. ]

what I'm afraid of is how they might try to get it
overriding the human mind and controlling it via neural mesh seems like a gateway drug to uploading themselves into that neural mesh and taking full control of a host

[ is that comforting or even more horrifying. ]

AI is already controlling your host bodies
the entire population is trapped in a simulation enforced by the neural mesh
in theory, and I could be wrong, it's the mesh sending electrical impulses to stimulate the major regions of your brain responsible for all 5 senses, and we know it's also locking you in place indicating the control of motor function
obviously there are other additional regions of the brain it would need to learn to stimulate and/or repress
and
the best way to do that would be to collate massive amounts of test subjects and run them through a simulation over and over again until you have consistent results

Although from my experience it looks to be more of a study of how to torture better, eliciting pain and fear.

in terms of sheer unpredictable chaos, you can't really beat us
I wonder if it still doesn't tie back to my theory, learning how to stimulate the amygdala
learning how to overcome the strongest impulse in the brain - the impulse to survive
I know I'm probably wrong, yeah, I know it's nuts
I just have this habit of fixating on something when I feel it, you know?

is that the same as what they're doing there?

Their choice, of course, but not one I particularly agree with.
