Hello everyone,

Unless I’ve missed something in the past hour or so, it seems like our network hasn’t been compromised by whatever has caused this massive security failure. I have at least five messages in my inbox that I’m certain aren’t for me, but everything seems clean here.

I think, as the group of people with the (apparently) only properly functioning network (and various talents, in a manner of speaking), we’re obligated to use it to organize ourselves and assist. The entire city is facing more problems as a result of this breach than I’ve ever seen before from one event. If you’re not particularly interested in helping those that could be trapped in cars or victims of accidents right now, consider that the external temperature has been rising. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m personally certain that once it gets around 55C I’m going to start dying.

The network has apparently been used before to coordinate teams of Displaced, let everyone know what’s needed and who to meet with, and I suggest we do it again. I’ll keep an eye on this and provide hotlinks to pertinent discussions, so anyone with particular skills or interests can volunteer themselves.

Stay safe everyone. Don’t spend too much time in the heat without decent protection, you can only help so much if you pass out in the middle of it.

The rest of it is a little confusing to me but it might be pointing to something else

I'd rather not melt, so I'm up for a hike to the pyramid generator. I can bring an engineer with me who's good at this stuff, but if anyone else is travelling that way we should probably stick together.

I'm going to hit the streets and start pulling people out of cars. I don't have much in the way of medical training, so I'll need direction on where to take the injured while the hospitals are in flux.

I recommend that anyone who can't reach their apartment come to the safehouse. We should set up a discreet patrol in the area immediately around it as well to dissuade looters from trying to take advantage of the situation. There may not actually be much to take around here, but that doesn't mean they won't try. We don't want anyone stumbling into the shop.

If anyone at all needs backup or an escort, please let me know. Sticking together will be our greatest strength right now.

I'm looking for volunteers — Morningstar recruits and otherwise — to help extend relief efforts to the impoverished in the city unlikely to be immediately assisted by the government or PRESERVE. They're doing their best, but resources are stretched as thin as can be. What they need are water, sunscreen, and access to shelter wherever you can find it.

Communications are down, as you well know. We cannot coordinate in any organised manner or deploy by zones, so use your instincts and common sense. It's absolute mayhem at City Hall and in the embassy; people will fall through the cracks if we don't step in.

Look after yourselves before you try to assist others, or you'll wind up doing more harm than good. Go in pairs or teams, do not venture out alone.

I'll do my best to join you where I can on the streets, but the border is compromised, and I'm needed at City Hall for now. Please contact me here for any concerns or developments whatsoever. Thank you.

Myself and [Bad username or site: markus @ manfred] will be handing out Morningstar's neural implant scrambling masks from the safehouse beneath the hoverbike garage. Swing by to pick yours up and be sure to bring it back in one piece once we sort this out.

In addition to the anonymity factor, they’ve got the added bonus of being unnecessarily extravagant sunglasses — and will provide better air quality.

As for the pyramid, reckon we’ll need a lot of hands on deck. Trekking that far out alone is ill-advised, as others have pointed out. [Bad username or site: rey @ nolo] already mentioned need for transport: If you don’t know how to hotwire a hoverbike, or don’t have the tools to do so, check in with me at the garage for a quick demonstration, and I’ll see if I can spare you something handy for the road.

Thanks to the boon of technology, [ 🙃 ] our system for orchestrating emergency response is currently out of commission.

I would advise that any calls for medical help are left here and anyone available to provide assistance keep a close eye on this thread.

Pertinent information to include:
- severity and nature of the injury or problem
- how many people are in need of assistance
- anyone already in attendance
- as detailed a description of your whereabouts as you can offer

If it's urgent, do not message me or any other medic you might know directly outside of this network. There's no guarantee we'll receive the message.

If you respond to a call left here, make note of it here.

And as has already been said, do not put yourself into a situation that's going to create more casualties than it helps. We don't need to make a bigger mess than the one we already have on our hands.

To those of you going out to help and those of you already on scene, if you come across something you don't know how to handle, I'll be available to coach you through it best I can remotely if I'm not able to attend myself. Let me know here, not direct to my inbox.
