Hello everyone,

Unless I’ve missed something in the past hour or so, it seems like our network hasn’t been compromised by whatever has caused this massive security failure. I have at least five messages in my inbox that I’m certain aren’t for me, but everything seems clean here.

I think, as the group of people with the (apparently) only properly functioning network (and various talents, in a manner of speaking), we’re obligated to use it to organize ourselves and assist. The entire city is facing more problems as a result of this breach than I’ve ever seen before from one event. If you’re not particularly interested in helping those that could be trapped in cars or victims of accidents right now, consider that the external temperature has been rising. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m personally certain that once it gets around 55C I’m going to start dying.

The network has apparently been used before to coordinate teams of Displaced, let everyone know what’s needed and who to meet with, and I suggest we do it again. I’ll keep an eye on this and provide hotlinks to pertinent discussions, so anyone with particular skills or interests can volunteer themselves.

Stay safe everyone. Don’t spend too much time in the heat without decent protection, you can only help so much if you pass out in the middle of it.

Myself and [Bad username or site: markus @ manfred] will be handing out Morningstar's neural implant scrambling masks from the safehouse beneath the hoverbike garage. Swing by to pick yours up and be sure to bring it back in one piece once we sort this out.

In addition to the anonymity factor, they’ve got the added bonus of being unnecessarily extravagant sunglasses — and will provide better air quality.

As for the pyramid, reckon we’ll need a lot of hands on deck. Trekking that far out alone is ill-advised, as others have pointed out. [Bad username or site: rey @ nolo] already mentioned need for transport: If you don’t know how to hotwire a hoverbike, or don’t have the tools to do so, check in with me at the garage for a quick demonstration, and I’ll see if I can spare you something handy for the road.

I can drive a hoverbike but I can't wire anything.

What's wrong with the air quality? How much of the atmosphere's gone missing?

I'll show you how to hotwire it. Overrides the need for a neural key to activate the bike.

As for the atmosphere, it's more quality over quantity here. The atmosphere on this planet has deteriorated over time, with stabilisers like the pyramid providing a net to compensate for this and protecting against ozone depletion as well. Without the pyramid functioning, low quality air and UV rays threaten both our stamina and health over time.

Jaqobis and El's chat seems to suggest engineers should be on site, in theory.

They haven't put out any message or warnings, however, which makes me uneasy. If DAWNS wants for chaos, then they have it for longer if the engineers are being given the runaround — or otherwise incapacitated. There's also the matter of border control, though I reckon the bucket-heads aren't in tip-top shape with the virus short-circuiting their gear. Could check out some guns from the Morningstar store, just in case. With a stun only mandate.

There are a plenty of models to choose from, so a two-seater should be no problem.
How are you finding the neural networks at present? Can you manage much interfacing with local tech?
