@abel.navigator

Hello everyone,

Unless I’ve missed something in the past hour or so, it seems like our network hasn’t been compromised by whatever has caused this massive security failure. I have at least five messages in my inbox that I’m certain aren’t for me, but everything seems clean here.

I think, as the group of people with the (apparently) only properly functioning network (and various talents, in a manner of speaking), we’re obligated to use it to organize ourselves and assist. The entire city is facing more problems as a result of this breach than I’ve ever seen before from one event. If you’re not particularly interested in helping those that could be trapped in cars or victims of accidents right now, consider that the external temperature has been rising. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m personally certain that once it gets around 55C I’m going to start dying.

The network has apparently been used before to coordinate teams of Displaced, let everyone know what’s needed and who to meet with, and I suggest we do it again. I’ll keep an eye on this and provide hotlinks to pertinent discussions, so anyone with particular skills or interests can volunteer themselves.

Stay safe everyone. Don’t spend too much time in the heat without decent protection, you can only help so much if you pass out in the middle of it.

They have seven gods, but they also prefer nature to all this technology. Isn't that the antithesis of AI?

If they don't like technology, that's a good reason to pretend to be an AI and go around breaking a good deal of it. Shut down the technology and blame it on the technology.

That tactic isn't unheard of. Creating the problem and then using it to demonstrate one's point.

When I left my world, some of the men had attacked a giant in our custody in order to provoke him to kill, so that I would get rid of him. They were afraid of him, though he'd never hurt anybody before.

They don't even have a social media presence. I'm not sure they'd have the know-how to accomplish what you're describing in this case. It seems like it'd almost be like ...

Well, it'd be a little like you trying to black out the whole city, Jon.

[WOW]

I know how to set off an EMP device.

[the other stuff, though...she's not wrong.]

It could be another group that believes as they do. Even in the days of the Faith Militant there were people living quiet lives and Septons preaching peace.

If that's true, the organizer of the Insomniac Ball might have some insight. Maybe a group that diverged from their own.

That's who Clarke said she was going to see.

[not his first choice for a delicate diplomatic mission, but not his last. at least people seem to like markus.]

You and Rey both make excellent points. Even Morningstar had factions within its local chapter.
