@abel.navigator

Hello everyone,

Unless I’ve missed something in the past hour or so, it seems like our network hasn’t been compromised by whatever has caused this massive security failure. I have at least five messages in my inbox that I’m certain aren’t for me, but everything seems clean here.

I think, as the group of people with the (apparently) only properly functioning network (and various talents, in a manner of speaking), we’re obligated to use it to organize ourselves and assist. The entire city is facing more problems as a result of this breach than I’ve ever seen before from one event. If you’re not particularly interested in helping those that could be trapped in cars or victims of accidents right now, consider that the external temperature has been rising. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m personally certain that once it gets around 55C I’m going to start dying.

The network has apparently been used before to coordinate teams of Displaced, let everyone know what’s needed and who to meet with, and I suggest we do it again. I’ll keep an eye on this and provide hotlinks to pertinent discussions, so anyone with particular skills or interests can volunteer themselves.

Stay safe everyone. Don’t spend too much time in the heat without decent protection, you can only help so much if you pass out in the middle of it.

(stop cursing him MARGARET)

No, I last saw him at the apartment. Now I can't get back in. Suffice to say I've lost a few layers of clothing, I didn't bring anything to change out of this suit.

(it's so hot, wearing a tie was a bad choice. still, it could help him out of a pickle. tourniquet potential. so it's secured around his upper arm for safekeeping.)

Damn these misfires.

Are you at City Hall now? How are things over there?

I'm stuck in heels when I'd much prefer boots for this sort of work; we all have our crosses to bear.

Yes, I'm at work. Everything is in an uproar with communications down and the border compromised. We've had to resort to sending runners between here and the embassy if a message is urgent enough. A familiar tactic from my days in the war, chaos and all, but excruciating when one has become accustomed to the advances of this time.

If I can act as one runner, let me know. I'm all over the city right now and it's a blessing our network's remained operational. There are many boons when it comes to technology, but when you begin to abuse it... it tends to bite back.

"To find north, most look at a compass. For little birdies to find north, they just need to open their eyes. This is a wake up call." We rely too heavily on our advancements and have lost sight of the true nature of things. Humans don't learn lessons easily, in my experience.

No offence meant.
