Hello everyone,

Unless I’ve missed something in the past hour or so, it seems like our network hasn’t been compromised by whatever has caused this massive security failure. I have at least five messages in my inbox that I’m certain aren’t for me, but everything seems clean here.

I think, as the group of people with the (apparently) only properly functioning network (and various talents, in a manner of speaking), we’re obligated to use it to organize ourselves and assist. The entire city is facing more problems as a result of this breach than I’ve ever seen before from one event. If you’re not particularly interested in helping those that could be trapped in cars or victims of accidents right now, consider that the external temperature has been rising. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m personally certain that once it gets around 55C I’m going to start dying.

The network has apparently been used before to coordinate teams of Displaced, let everyone know what’s needed and who to meet with, and I suggest we do it again. I’ll keep an eye on this and provide hotlinks to pertinent discussions, so anyone with particular skills or interests can volunteer themselves.

Stay safe everyone. Don’t spend too much time in the heat without decent protection, you can only help so much if you pass out in the middle of it.

I'd rather not melt, so I'm up for a hike to the pyramid generator. I can bring an engineer with me who's good at this stuff, but if anyone else is travelling that way we should probably stick together.

If the temperatures are climbing, we don't want to hike out there. It'll be too slow, and we might not make it if they continue to rise.
We need transportation. Hoverbikes.

If the systems of the city are down, there are plenty that will be easy to acquire from people who have the means to replace them.

There's something else I have to do first while we have our chance, but when it's done, I'll be making my way up there, yeah. I've spent a lifetime teaching myself how to salvage broken machines. I think I can help get this one back up too.

If we're lucky it won't be too broken, if the place has shielding we might just need to turn it all back on again.

At the very least, we ought to be lucky enough that it doesn't need new parts.
Assuming the EMP is all that happened to it, anyway.

Guess it depends on if the pyramid is a side-effect or their main target, and if they want to keep it broken. If they do they might turn up to dissuade us from fixing it. If it's just a flashy show of strength then they might not care either way.

You're banking on things like rational thought processes.

I never like to assume that anyone who causes wide spread destruction and chaos as a way to start a conversation is behaving at all rationally.
