i've been wondering recently, even more now with what was at that building cassius pointed us to, how many people here aren't from earth originally?

i've only mentioned this to a few people because, at first, i wasn't sure how safe it would be to have it be common knowledge. but since you can find it if you read back far enough i might as well say it: i'm an alien.

i'm originally from a planet called krypton. it's gone now and so home for me is earth in my universe. i look human on the outside, but my anatomy is pretty different on the inside, especially on a genetic level. knowing that, i've got so many questions about the people who brought us here and experimented on us, put the implants in our heads. especially if i'm not the only one like that. i'm probably not going to get answers to those questions any time soon, but if people are willing to share, i'd like to know how many of us aren't exactly like the humans here. how many of us may have been surprises when they opened us up.

Things are changing soon. Have changed. The new safehouse is nearly open for business, and while it's Morningstar property, Morningstar security and Morningstar interests, it's still yours. We've transferred the deed over, but we've set up a system where that can be handed back to us if anything goes wrong or if anyone disappears for good. It's set so we can pass it on. Plus: we don't disappear.

[ "we" = Morningstar. "we" = the people of this world. Gaby is no rhetorical genius but she knows what it means to draw that line. ]

Which is one of my two points.

1. We move to the new safehouse on the 1st of November. We have transportation to get over there, and it's a garage, so we can walk in like normal looking people hoping to start a business there. This place will be closed down. Detonated and cleansed. If you have anything here that's yours, get it out before then.

2. I've intended to stay on. El must stay on given zeir setup of your lives when you get here. But I realize some of you think you're going to be more independent than that. So, I'll leave it open. If you demand my absence – fine. But bear in mind that I am the only local resource and the only one who won't disappear. More than that? I'm invested. But if you say go, I go. It's up to you.

Discuss.

So, this isn't my first time being here, I've learned. I'm still wrapping my head around the whole thing but there's a few of you that know me and I don't know anything about you except what I've learned in the last few weeks.

You all probably know more about me than I know about you and that's weird. Nothing I can do about it but it's weird all the same. I half want to make lists of what you know about me so I can compare and contrast. I'm not going to though. You guys deserve to keep those memories of him — me — for yourselves.

Sorry that I'm not him, though.

Anyway, I'm not smart enough to really have an explanation on why this happened. I don't know if I was here and had my memories wiped and then got sent back. Pretty clear that messing with heads is pretty normal here and it wouldn't be a stretch where I come from either. But is there a way to test for that without cracking my head open?

Or I could be totally different person which just gets into science stuff that's above my pay grade. But I can't rule it out. Two of me. No one wants that, though. I don't know which explanation I really prefer either.

I need a drink.

not that threatening to decapitate each other and arranging moonlight duels isn't oscar-worthy, but for those of us that prefer alternatives to murder...

i'd like to point out that the future still apparently celebrates halloween. sure, there are bar crawls and costume parties everywhere you look... but do we really need the publicity of booze + empathy bonds + blue light specials?

maybe we should consider throwing our own party. any takers?

hey, so

my brother and i lost our roommate. or she disappeared. or went home, whatever you wanna call it. her name is kate bishop. she's gonna be missed. i dunno what protocol is for this but it sucks.

but that kind of leaves us with a big problem. we both need better paying jobs, or a roommate. both honestly. otherwise we're going to have to go back to the safehouse and nobody wants that. so if anyone is hiring or is in need of a place to stay, let me know? i want to get ahead of this before we go back home and end up evicted.

i wouldn't say no to a butler either.

Hey.

So, I know Sora mentioned this to a few of you, but he and I have been to lots of different worlds. That's not why I'm here today. When we were doing that, we didn't have a lot of chances to go to school. Honestly, we haven't been in a couple years. According to the setup process here, we had to pretend that we're eighteen to get by. I get it. Flying under the radar. But that means we're missing a lot. It's not just world history, which I guess we could all take some time getting to know. It's math, grammar, all that stuff.

I was hoping that some other kids around our ages wouldn't mind setting up a study group. Or club. Whatever you wanna call it. I've found the materials we need to get started. We can work with each other. Look over things, help each other out.

We can get started here ... or wait until we're back in New Amsterdam. I'm fine either way.

Just let me know, all right? Sora especially could use some friends there with him.

Turns out working with me isn't enough to sell him on the whole school idea. Which ... I guess is fair.

two questions:

first, why are cigarettes fucking banned? is there a rhyme or reason to that? if it's for the good of the environment, i'm going to vomit. i'd be a lot more reasonable if i could smoke.

second, anyone meet someone for the first time in a dream? pretty sure i fucking did. i don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing for the future. one person nearly seared off my fucking hand off and the other tried to attack me.

i'd at least talked to the first person before via text. she's a horrible person. the second shit said his name was han solo and decided he'd try to kill me. i don't think we're gonna be friends.

I'm in need of at least three people who are very sure what powers they have been given since arriving in New Amsterdam. It might be best if those powers are not of a destructive nature, but of course I'll take what I can get.

If we are strangers, all the better, but it's not necessary.

I could be of better use in New Tokyo if I can figure out what my power truly is, and I don't think that's going to happen alone.

Hi everyone! Since our IDs are finally working, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself. My name is Sora, and this isn't my first time in a different world (not even close!), but it is my first time arriving like this. And being stuck with a lot of other people.

Since we're all working toward the same goal, I want to get to know everyone! So, if you feel like it, tell me something about yourself. It can be anything, just so long as it's something cool or interesting or whatever!

I can start! Like I said, I've been to a lot of different worlds. I've been to Wonderland, and inside of a whale's belly, I was a pirate for a while... I've even met Santa Claus! And I've been to a city like this once before. It was called San Fransokyo.

One other thing. If you meet someone with silver hair named Riku, he's my best friend. We're from the same island. He might seem kind of quiet and moody sometimes, but he's a really good person and he wants to help all of you too.

I think that's it. It's nice to meet everyone!

Good evening, everyone. For our new arrivals and those of you I haven’t yet met, I’m Peggy Carter. I arrived on the fifth transport in August. You’re likely already acquainted with Fitz (@leo.fitz) from the first transport. And as you may have noticed on the news, the problems in this world have escalated. So we have a proposition for you.

But first, to catch you up: We all woke up far from home, and a rebel organisation called Morningstar found us first, providing assistance. For over 50 years, Morningstar has fought to restore human rights, dismantle the influence of corporate conglomerates, fight government corruption, and save lives in this world. But on September 10th, the United Nations moved against them — and between the arrests and emergency relocation of the surviving agents, their ranks here have been severely depleted. (Check the Newbie Guide for more information).

Without Morningstar, crucial eyes and ears on the inside and boots on the ground are gone. If we want to understand and help this world, filling those gaps is a logical next step. Not just for ourselves but for the people who relied on Morningstar long before we got here.

Both Fitz and I chose to join up some time ago (and we aren’t the first of our group to do so). After the arrests, we approached Gaby with an offer to help rebuild Morningstar’s network and take on any unfinished business in the aftermath. She identified charity work in the poverty-stricken districts of the city as a chief priority.

If you want to help, you can lend a hand tonight. Carter and I will be at the safehouse from 19:00 to answer questions, and at 20:00 sharp, we’re heading out as Morningstar agents to deliver food and clothes to those in need. Even if you can’t yet leave the safehouse, you can help us prep packs.

And if you would like to do more or feel your position in New Amsterdam society could help Morningstar’s cause, do let us and Gaby know. We’re keen to assist anyone with exploring their options here or in person. Our varied backgrounds and skills mean we have the potential to strengthen Morningstar’s network of intelligence and contribute beyond our own objectives, too.

Our aim today is to share this information and the opportunity to volunteer. Unfortunately, because we’ve used precious resources and inadvertently attracted scrutiny in the public eye — often while asking for Morningstar’s help with investigations into our predicament, as I’ve done — our current relationship with Morningstar is tenuous at best, despite our recent assistance during the raids. But consider this a new chapter.

Our stay here may be temporary, but we can still strive to leave this world better than how we found it. Thank you for your time.

I apologize for the ungainly, public method of dispersing this information, but I'll admit to not knowing everyone it may matter to.

Noctis Sky, as he was known on the network, has disappeared.

For those who may be new and not understand this: Our existences here are occasionally unstable. We cease to exist for periods of time. Sometimes we return. In at least one instance, we return with memories and physical changes from our homes, as though we experienced a length of time in our own world before returning.

To my knowledge, there is no pattern or reasoning behind it. I'm sure there are those who have been here uninterrupted since Morningstar brought the collective refugees together, and possibly those who don't linger a tenth of as long.

That's the extent of my information about the phenomenon. If anyone has any questions or other experiences, please feel free to let me know.

i've offered powers training 1:1 in the past, and some of you have taken me up on that. if you haven't, or you haven't been sure how to ask, i'm going to be doing these as group classes moving forwards on a regular schedule.

Everything that just happened makes it obvious that we need a better way of knowing what we can all do. At this point, I don't think I need to tell you that we all need to work together. We already are. We're a coalition of the displaced. It means we can do some good for this world and for ourselves.

So, a few things. I know some people haven't wanted to share in the past. But let us help you. Okay? I get why you wouldn't want to. Trust me. I know it's hard.

1. Can you tell us what power you have? Aside from that, what skills you have, as well. We might want to organize it somewhere. Maybe that new person guide that I saw mentioned.

2. If you have a power edit that you know, have you noticed changes in it? How did it change?
Edit 2a. Have you noticed your power in relation to your personality or experiences? Does it match up?

3. If you don't know how to use your power, @daisy.johnson will help you. She has experience with this stuff.

4. Let @markus.manfred know what kind of safehouse you want. We don't need to discuss here. He's got it all covered.
