@leo.fitz ― 4 NOVEMBER 2511
Hi everyone,
If you don't already know me from the safehouse or the guide, I'm Fitz, one of the arrivals from the first transport. Prior to being here, I was a weapons and technology expert at SHIELD. Now, I’m a Pulsar engineer and, more importantly, an agent of Morningstar.
Recently, @ojiro.juniper approached me with the clever idea to kickstart some research and development efforts. We’re working on a way to bankroll this, and we’ll let you know how that develops in due course. For now, regardless of where discussions have evolved on the nature of organisation and leadership, we need your assistance with some big endeavors, both for the Displaced and Morningstar.
― Fitz
[ Check out here for more deets on the cache and here for some OOC knowledge of what Fitz is working on personally. He’ll share details of the latter strand of work with any individuals wanting to form a geek squad c: For #3, interested applicants can just private message Ojiro on this post! I'll be throwing together a plot engagement incorporating what characters ICly suggest in the coming weeks! ]

1. As some of you may know from the raids, Morningstar has a cache of unidentified weapons in its local store. We don’t know what they do, how they work, how dangerous they are, and so on, but I want to find out. So, let's discuss a plan: Any thoughts or ideas for how to approach the cache and suss everything out safely would be welcome.Cheers.
Reckon we’ll need at least one colour-coded spreadsheet. [ ***NOT JOKING ]
2. We could use a team of engineers for ad hoc projects. Presently, I’m exploring tech that could counter both the UNA and the creatures that keep popping up, as well as give us more freedom to act whenever trouble comes our way — all by my lonesome.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, whether or not you have the technical know-how to get to work immediately, or you want to learn on the job, let me know. Can’t pay you in anything except snacks, but I can assure you they’ll be bug free.
3. Hi, this is Ojiro. In addition to the above, I also need an engineer for personal reasons, and I will pay you. I need someone with a lot of experience with tech as advanced as the standard here, preferably lots of hands-on engine work. Message me if you're interested!

If you'd ever like to look, I'd be happy to accompany you, provided you don't mind the chatter.
[ she already witnessed his foot-in-mouth disease firsthand. ]
Odds are some are explosive, yes, which is why I've said we need a robust plan. Ideally, I want to walkthrough with other keen eyes and inventory everything first, categorising as much as possible on sight and identifying the items least likely and most likely to be hazardous. Green to red scale. Any true unknowns default to red as a precautionary measure.
As for transport, I'm looking into Morningstar resources presently, but we have several couriers in our midst, too. As they regularly deliver items, orchestrating pick-ups and stops at designated rendezvous points should be manageable.

I mislike taking time from important work.
[Just so we're all clear where her priorities are.]
I must confess, my lord, I know very little of weapons and technology.
But I know a thing or two about explosions, and fire.
These couriers you plan to hire - do you imagine they have handled this sort of cargo before?
Many may come to harm, otherwise.

a beat. ]
As you like it. Scouting locations is on my agenda, anyway, if that suits.
[ for testing sites, new safehouses, and casing local neighbourhoods. ]
Not hire, sorry. They'll be our own people, aware of the dangers and preferably trained already. [ Some of the Displaced couriers already are, like Dameron. ] Additionally, I'm not aiming to blow any single-use items, so to speak, so it's unlikely explosives would be moved at all. Better to take an analytical approach to anything with fiery potential or wholly unidentifiable.
We'd be looking at firearms and defence tech for movement and testing. Think guns, bullets, varying armour. Surveillance gear (for spying on others) and field equipment (like traction gloves, lock jacks), too. [ he hyperlinks the key terms for ease, should she require more information. ]
Even so, I won't lie and say it's without danger. This project is a calculated risk. As such, I can't advise anyone uncertain to take part.

[Look, nobody here acts or talks like smallfolk, its hard for her to tell who has status and who doesn't!!! She doesn't want to offend!!! It's better to just. Assume.
It takes her some time to reply, likely because she has to first figure out what a hyperlink is and then also has to read and digest all of the material. But she will surely thank him for it later.]
Putting the Displaced at risk is not my concern.
It is those unaware, potentially caught in our path.

[ the more keen eyes, the better. dany had been quick enough to suss him out at the festival, so he knows her to be observant. ]
I can assure you that those people who remain unaware are of the utmost importance. We're here to ensure we have the tools to protect them, not endanger them.
[ if he has his way, they'll use what they can and lock up what they can't, as SHIELD has done for years. ]

[As an afterthough:]
Should no one come to harm, of course.
no subject
That makes two of us.
[ if someone gets hurt, that’s on him. if something goes missing, and is used to hurt someone else, that’s on him, too. his fingerprints will be all over these weapons. ]
What do you think should happen to the weapons and technology that are usable?
no subject
Are you preparing for war?
[Just throwing that out there.]
no subject
And if we are?
no subject
Then I suggest making absolutely certain you know what they all do before you dane to use them.
And the sort of war you seek to wage — ashes don’t tend to languish in freedom as well as living men.
You will need to keep your weapons under lock and key, both to safeguard them from the UNA and any vigilante sorts that might take heart towards your cause among our own number or other’s.
But I would first consider if the war you seek to wage can be won with words over swords.
It is seldom those in power who worst feel the pinch of death.
I do not gather that to be your cause.

He's just Fitz.
[ rey here to inject some humility into all these dudes just LETTING DANY CALL THEM LORD ]

You're right, of course.
As a matter of fact, I do not have to do anything.

I just mean he's not a lord of anything.
At least I don't think he is [Bad username or site: leo @ fitz]???
@jon.snow
[Bad username or site: daenerys @ targaryen] For some reason they like "sir" here, "ma'am" for women. In front of the names, it's "Mr." or "Ms." What did they say for merchants and traders in the Free Cities? We were taught that there are many there who have influence but no title. There are no titles here anymore.

[ oh Jon. She and Dany had this conversation, and it wasn't quite that. ]

You do.

You do.
And I pray I will not need to remind you of that in the future.
I will be less kind.

I would not have him or anyone else speak for you, and you should not seek to speak to me for him.

Never had a title, but I’m not fussed about this.
Don’t really like Leo; that’s all. Just Fitz.
