@leo.fitz ― 4 NOVEMBER 2511
Hi everyone,
If you don't already know me from the safehouse or the guide, I'm Fitz, one of the arrivals from the first transport. Prior to being here, I was a weapons and technology expert at SHIELD. Now, I’m a Pulsar engineer and, more importantly, an agent of Morningstar.
Recently, @ojiro.juniper approached me with the clever idea to kickstart some research and development efforts. We’re working on a way to bankroll this, and we’ll let you know how that develops in due course. For now, regardless of where discussions have evolved on the nature of organisation and leadership, we need your assistance with some big endeavors, both for the Displaced and Morningstar.
― Fitz
[ Check out here for more deets on the cache and here for some OOC knowledge of what Fitz is working on personally. He’ll share details of the latter strand of work with any individuals wanting to form a geek squad c: For #3, interested applicants can just private message Ojiro on this post! I'll be throwing together a plot engagement incorporating what characters ICly suggest in the coming weeks! ]

1. As some of you may know from the raids, Morningstar has a cache of unidentified weapons in its local store. We don’t know what they do, how they work, how dangerous they are, and so on, but I want to find out. So, let's discuss a plan: Any thoughts or ideas for how to approach the cache and suss everything out safely would be welcome.Cheers.
Reckon we’ll need at least one colour-coded spreadsheet. [ ***NOT JOKING ]
2. We could use a team of engineers for ad hoc projects. Presently, I’m exploring tech that could counter both the UNA and the creatures that keep popping up, as well as give us more freedom to act whenever trouble comes our way — all by my lonesome.
If this sounds like something you’re interested in, whether or not you have the technical know-how to get to work immediately, or you want to learn on the job, let me know. Can’t pay you in anything except snacks, but I can assure you they’ll be bug free.
3. Hi, this is Ojiro. In addition to the above, I also need an engineer for personal reasons, and I will pay you. I need someone with a lot of experience with tech as advanced as the standard here, preferably lots of hands-on engine work. Message me if you're interested!

That's good enough for me.
Anything else I should know? No is a fine answer.
[ a beat. ]
Could set aside someone even-handed and inoffensive like Parker to be the observer in your trio, if we get that far.
[ maturity is not suggesting himself even though he's dying to meet her... he'll awkwardly say hey at the field test briefing, if they get that far... ]

[Except for Connor. Connor is apparently by default untrustworthy.]
The fact that she’s reached out in this post is promising, admittedly. I could just be worrying too much. But I thought you should know.

fascinating... ]
I appreciate you telling me. This project is audacious enough without interpersonal issues affecting the safety of others.
[ leave his science out of this, god. ]
If we get as far as field testing, we can see how the briefing and containment drills go — and adjust to the terrain.

[Even if it’s pretty obvious to Fitz already that North has a... strong personality.]
But it sounds like this is an endeavor that needs to go over as smoothly as possible to make everyone’s lives easier. I thought I should tell you, and now you know.
[Feeling a little guilty about it? YOU BET but such as it is.]
Hopefully you can get enough volunteers so tensions won’t be an issue. Enough roles to rotate out.

[ if he was deterred by angry robot gals, he'd probably be a lot better off, like, psychologically. this is the guy that thought an underwater death trap was fascinating, remember? ]
Hopefully, yes. There are those who are against testing, but I think we're doing everything we can to mitigate the risk. Even if most of the new tech's crap, it still could tell us how the UNA builds their traps.
[ not sure if he's using markus as a sounding board or asking for reassurance here. ]

[Moving on like that's nothing-]
I think that's information that we shouldn't pass up. It looks like everyone's in agreement that we need to be careful, so we might as well be careful while trying to learn more about a group that could give us trouble in the future.
You think any of those weapons might lead back to a manufacturer? If we ever reach a disassembly stage.
[At home, if all you had were the biocomponents of an android, it was easy to tell to whom they "belonged". CyberLife always left its footprints all over their parts, proprietary as they were.]
no subject
It's a good thought.
There are tens of things you can find in a single piece of hardware. A design signature. A house style. A data trail. A manufacturer, if we're lucky.
[ it's nerd christmas ]

I’m sure you’ve probably already thought of it, but trace the designs back to a manufacturer, and you might be able to get an accurate estimation of the UNA’s numbers; assuming you can suss out placed orders, too.
no subject
I hadn't, actually. Clever thinking.
We'll see what we can glean from anything deemed safe and work backwards from there.
Someone supplies their weapons, at any rate.
no subject
Right. No organization functions in a vacuum. If we can't learn more about the UNA directly, we pick up clues from the footprints they leave behind.
Which is what you're doing with all of this, anyway.
Keep me up to date, let me know when you need me. I'll practice with my shields and make sure they're nothing to scoff at when the time comes for testing.

Thank you, Markus, as always.
[ for the ideas and counsel. he switches to PRIVATE. ]
We've both been training the new recruits, but Carter might be best-suited to challenge your reflexes, y'know.
[ she's the sharpshooter. ]
no subject
[And here we are in PRIVATE territory.]
Thanks, then I'll reach out. I don't expect she'd take it too easy on me.
[Muscle memory is a Thing now, being human. Markus will take advantage of every opportunity thrown at him to strengthen it.]
