Hi everyone,

If you don't already know me from the safehouse or the guide, I'm Fitz, one of the arrivals from the first transport. Prior to being here, I was a weapons and technology expert at SHIELD. Now, I’m a Pulsar engineer and, more importantly, an agent of Morningstar.

Recently, @ojiro.juniper approached me with the clever idea to kickstart some research and development efforts. We’re working on a way to bankroll this, and we’ll let you know how that develops in due course. For now, regardless of where discussions have evolved on the nature of organisation and leadership, we need your assistance with some big endeavors, both for the Displaced and Morningstar.

1. As some of you may know from the raids, Morningstar has a cache of unidentified weapons in its local store. We don’t know what they do, how they work, how dangerous they are, and so on, but I want to find out. So, let's discuss a plan: Any thoughts or ideas for how to approach the cache and suss everything out safely would be welcome.

Reckon we’ll need at least one colour-coded spreadsheet. [ ***NOT JOKING ]

2. We could use a team of engineers for ad hoc projects. Presently, I’m exploring tech that could counter both the UNA and the creatures that keep popping up, as well as give us more freedom to act whenever trouble comes our way — all by my lonesome.

If this sounds like something you’re interested in, whether or not you have the technical know-how to get to work immediately, or you want to learn on the job, let me know. Can’t pay you in anything except snacks, but I can assure you they’ll be bug free.

3. Hi, this is Ojiro. In addition to the above, I also need an engineer for personal reasons, and I will pay you. I need someone with a lot of experience with tech as advanced as the standard here, preferably lots of hands-on engine work. Message me if you're interested!

sometimes it's parts i don't know the name for, but if i can figure out what i need and it's close by, it'll come to me
i'm guessing a five or six foot radius. anything farther is a dead zone.

Would you be up for scouting potential test sites, too? I know you have an eye for this sort of thing.

not much market for upcycled scraps, but i can make some cheap shields if you need them for testing purposes

[ rey got the nice one with the SHIELD logo, but quick and dirty should do the trick in this situation. ]

i'll keep an eye out. the caves are an option, too, if we can coordinate the days.

How about powers? I'm looking for anyone with defensive or evasive capabilities who could help contain field tests. I've only got myself, Cain and Markus down, at present.

[ they're stacked in a firefight, but severely lacking in other areas. it's a weakness he hadn't considered before. ]

it's a short list.
there may be more than that, but if they're out there, they're not coming to me for tips. people don't tend to freak out about passive abilities, though - at least not the same way they do when fire starts spitting from their hands.

[ strange how new amsterdam is making daisy come around to the concept of the index and the accords. there's still risk involved in putting people with abilities on a list — if it gets in the wrong hands, if the hands holding it have a change of heart, et cetera — but at least it arms them with knowledge about each other. who can do what, who could be useful in times of a crisis. right now, they're relying on personal connection to reveal information that people are historically not that willing to disclose. clearly, it's not working out very well. ]

maybe we should start putting together a roster.
names, date of arrival, abilities if we know them. probably safest to leave off any addresses or contact info, but we could list an emergency contact for buddy purposes.

[ if fitz went awol, she'd ask bobbi. vice versa. she knows who they'd ask if it was her (again). ]

i miss davis and piper. they were always willing to put up with our bullshit.

next town hall meeting, we can bring it up. see how people feel.
if it's anything, it'll be 100% voluntary. no demands.

[ no shrieking little brothers trying to run things like a dystopian dictatorship. ]

we had a good team. and a better one propping us up.
that's important too, fitz.

[ if daisy is the secret warriors, fitz is all of shield. big picture, big dreams, bigger heart. ]

A single member of the team from back home could change everything here.

[ fitz is one half of partnership spearheading the rebuild and restructure of rebel spy organisation. it's absorbing all his time and energy. gives him a new respect for fury and coulson; that's for sure. and they'd be nothing without all the new agents and contacts who signed up.

You have the right idea.
I wouldn't be able to take point at your side, but I'll support you in it.

[ his priority is Morningstar, not the Displaced. can't be forming Displaced strike teams when he's busy training up ones for Morningstar and so on. ]

with all due respect, director, you wouldn't be my first call on the dodgeball courts either.

[ can he hear her laughter across the city? it's a loving tease, in all ways — fitz is capable now, if not as obvious about it. he does press ups and everything. but he's never been the man charging forth with a gun in his hands, and he doesn't need to be.

besides, his incredible brain needs to be protected above all else. ]
