@kyna.medina
so everyone knows shit sucks right now
since i've been here i've seen a lot of talk about what we should do, but it seems like everyone has a different idea
some people want to start superhero teams and some people want to require training for everyone new who shows up
some of us want to go public, some don't, some people trust morningstar and some people think they're shady
some people are just saying "fuck it" and think we should worry about ourselves
you know, all that shit
so i guess i just wanted to crowdsource
get everyone's thoughts in one place or whatever
because it seems like fucked up shit keeps happening and since i got here, it's getting worse
this is probably going to start a whole argument about how much responsibility we even have when we've just been dragged here without a choice
or people saying no one should expect us to act as a group but
idk
here's your chance to be all opinionated
go

Maybe that's your problem
It's not about 'winning' anything, if you go into this kinda conversation trying to win a damn argument like it's a competition it's gonna make your whole gang look bad. You can't just big dick people into agreeing with you.
Look, I'm not trying to be an asshole when I say this
Specifically this, because yeah there's no denying I'm a huge asshole like the other 99% of the time but
If you wanna sell your whole thing as worth trusting and respecting
Come at this with some damn understanding and empathy for the other side of the issue, not just your own
You're gonna catch a hell of a lot more flies with honey than with railing on skeptics and even your own damn people last time

I thought offering you a place to stay, a stipend to get started, and a business to run your operations out of was a lot of honey. Guess I had it wrong.
Guess that's not enough.
I'm allowed to be pissed off when someone trashes me and mine.
But I'm not here to make a pitch. The fact that you think I am says a lot.
But hey, this isn't about winning someone over, right? Or winning at all? Once you take that out of the equation, you can't lose.

Sure, swell job, but when you do like you're doing right now and holding it over someone's head you're basically screwing up every good thing about it. It's manipulation 101.
Personally, I don't give a crap what it says about me, or what you think you know about me. If you don't know the difference between winning an argument and winning trust, sister, I got some bad news for you about interpersonal relationships. They're not even in the same ballpark.
Also, all these hypothetical non-questions? Real friggin annoying, Karen.

You saying we don't do enough to earn your trust, and then I point out all the things we're doing isn't manipulation. It's calling you on your bullshit. I'm pretty sure there was a saying for this once upon a time. Something about moving the scoring line?
[ football hasn't been a thing in a few centuries, whoops. ]
But thanks for telling me I sound plenty pissed off already. I didn't know if it came across the way I felt.

I said I respect what you do
But I don't trust organizations with agendas, no matter how many free cheeseburgers it throws at me
Especially not if it points out how many cheeseburgers it threw at me
I've been saying your approach is making it even harder to trust you
Still saying that
Keep on trying to circle-logic this all day long, but that's the bottom line

I doubt you're going to get a satisfying end to the conversation but he isn't a threat to safety.

I'd ask if you got anything out of it but I can see Castiel actually asked you some questions.
[ Thank you Castiel... thanks. ]
On which note, if there's anything to take away from the last few days it's that we need to make more than the basic information about Morningstar readily available to new arrivals if we're going to avoid having another two on two argument be characterized as an entire shadowy organization vs. anyone who dissents.
Morningstar has a write up with Rey, yourself and El listed as contacts for questions in our new arrival's guide but it doesn't include information about El or any of the finer points of the Displaced's history with Morningstar. It seems rare that people reach out to any of you to ask those questions when answers aren't readily available. I'll look into it.

But a little write up in there won't hurt.

Those of us who know who, what and why to tell haven't, and the rest haven't had enough information or knowing access to leak either accidentally or on purpose. The fact that it's biting in the ass with another round of paranoia bingo tells us that's not a functional longterm solution but better it took a couple of headaches than the accidental dropping of a truth bomb to teach that lesson.

You're right, though. We've been lucky thus far. Let's not fuck it up.
