I wouldn't be much help outside of going down to the fighting ring, I don't get out much, but I'd be happy to show you where we all cheerfully bludgeon each other for money.

I would be enchanted to see it. I won't promise my participation one way or the other, but if it's a well-traveled area, then I think it would be worth the visit.

Apparently my particular brand of showmanship while fighting has set me apart, which is my favorite aspect of talking shite while stabbing people.

Except there's no stabbing. I'm not allowed to stab anyone in the ring. Not even a little.

You can't be the only one who does that. I would really have thought it a more popular technique.

I suppose it's a sort of "fight as you are" situation? I can't say I'd be especially talented in that area.

I'm not surprised to hear that, my sister is the same. Even after decades now of me trying to knock her around without magic.

HA that is just like him. No, Varric's nickname for me is Chuckles because I'm so very funny. Although whether it's because I make him laugh or that I laugh at my own jokes is unknown.

Somehow, it sounds like the name of a terrifying wooden puppet.

Maybe he'll join us here and then we can ask him ourselves.
Until then, the meaning of the name will continue to be shrouded in mystery.

Oh no, I wouldn't allow it. Only Varric gets to call me that. It sounds odd coming from anyone else. I'm torn between wanting him here desperately, if only so we can make constant sarcastic commentary on the people here, and to read his romance stories he'd absolutely write about everyone here, but also I probably shouldn't want that. What with him being just fine at home.

But imagine the stories, Cecily.

I understand. I will cede the nickname to the clever dwarf who came up with it.

I'm glad he and the others are safe. Yes, the stories that will never be are a great tragedy, but not so great as the possibility of their getting hurt.

We've got enough depressing things here without our adding to it.

Well on the whole our world's more dangerous than this one. I've dealt with mercenaries and yellow-eyed monsters a bit here, but nothing so grand and glorious as a dragon which we clearly deserve to have and yet are denied.
