I had a few questions that aren't exactly related, but might as well be asked together.

[This feels familiar and yet also awkward. He'd gotten used to tormenting all of Hadriel with questions, but this is a new place and despite having been here a few weeks now he's still pretty unsure about the social dynamics. But continuing to be unsure won't accomplish anything, so he might as well just get into it.]

I've already gotten some interesting answers from a few people here, but since there are new arrivals once again it seems worth asking more generally: for those who've been here awhile, if you could only give one piece of advice to new people, what would it be?

Related to arriving, I've heard that some people here arrived from somewhere other than their own worlds. For those who are willing to share, if this situation applies to you, where did you come from and what was it like?

My last question is less curiosity and more practicality: does anyone know of a place that's isolated and safe enough for those who haven't discovered their powers to practice doing so? It seems a little reckless to test out new powers in the safehouse, around other people, but obviously we also shouldn't be practicing anywhere that the glow might be noticed. A designated location might be useful for that sort of thing, but before I try to figure out how to make that happen I'd like to make sure I'm not doing something someone's already done.

They used to practice in the caves but the UNA found it so that stopped. Might be safe enough to go back now since the UNA's been dissolved.

I didn't know there are caves here, but if it might be safe to practice in them again that would be pretty practical.

when i first got here i woke up in an abandoned hospital full of monsters and had to fight my way out
that was pretty exciting
and a while back we went halfway across the world to explore some ruins

there was probably more to the world than just the graveyard but everything in the distance was empty and dusty
i don't think we'd have stuck around to explore it though
and we definitely didn't have time while we were there
too busy fighting

Yes, but not from the same place. I was somewhere called Hadriel.

Not many. It was a primitive planet, so from my perspective it felt more like going back in time than forward. For reference, back home it's the year 2076 for me. El Nysa had kingdoms, horse-drawn carriages, monarchs, monsters and dragons and gods.

Hadriel. So I'm assuming you know Nathan Drake?

One of the four gates locations might be isolated enough for training. Takes you away from the city. It's not exactly easy to do that otherwise.

Are there any particular skills you think are especially valuable to know or learn for getting by here?

I've only heard a little about the gates; they can only be used by us, right? Do other people know about them?

I'd say it depends on how advanced the technology was in your homeworld. Knowing the neural implant technology can save your life, though. And if you have a human enough physiology, knowing how to visit a doctor and play standard citizen can, too. They don't ask as many questions as some of the Displaced fear, and if you walk around with a broken arm for longer than necessary, that'll catch more attention.

Basically: don't turn down medical care. You'd be surprised, but it's a common thing among our group.

Other than that? I'd say being handy with a gun helps.

As for the gates, they're only usable by us, but they're known by whatever shadowy group paid the people who kidnapped some of us to make sure we hit all four at once. They had an agenda, but that hasn't been revealed to us yet.

I've been practicing in the warehouse district late at night. But how do you plan on triggering it if it hasn't manifested thus far? That might be important.

I haven't really tried to activate it, so I'm not totally sure, but I've used magic before so I'm hoping it'll be kind of similar. I've heard most people here discover their power in a dangerous situation, but I'd prefer to be prepared before I actually might need to use it.

The cave system is pretty extensive. Easy to get lost down there.

General advice, don't let anyone see you glowing. But you seem smart, you'll figure it out.

Thanks. I'll definitely avoid glowing in front of anyone as much as possible; I know the power and empathy bond cause it, but is there anything else I might not know about?
