jason's probably had worse, so he shoves it into his mouth anyway, takes a bite. still doesn't move from his place on the couch. )

What brings you to this side of the shithole?

I'm trying to fumigate the building and thought this was the best place to wait it out.

You're really cleaning up in my absence.

( no need to really explain, jason understands without the words to back him up. )

How's the place coming along?

It's still lacking in most everything, but it's beginning to take shape.

[ He can admit that even he can't scrounge up a flawless base out of nothing in a week. Especially when the future seems to so disdain conventional tools. ]

Mostly materials to divide sections into rooms. Security equipment - I've no idea what this world has to offer, I intend to investigate it myself. Getting water flowing will probably be the biggest task.

Could get an actual apartment to put on the map, one with running water that's closeish but not close enough to be fishy.

( that's why he's still here, isn't it? living on loki's couch, specifically not moving unless absolutely necessary. there are--a few cuts to his midsection that are still healing jostling any of them is a real shit idea.

there's a pause, a deep breath in, before jason initiates a transfer for most the rest of his credits. he spent a good amount of time down in the slums fighting, even after getting fucked over by sniper. meaning: he's definitely got a decent sum. or had; damian has it now. )

Don't spend it all in one place.

For all his Jason might despise Batman and all he stands for, he can't guarantee that this one feels the same way. That he'll stand firm if someone (the lanterns are gunning for his head, Damian would put money on that, or Booster Gold in revenge for Ted Kord's death) comes with more truth than Damian's willing to tell, and then everyone who sides with the Bat will toss him aside.

It doesn't matter what they say. He's seen it in action. ]

( there's a very dramatic roll of his eyes, but jason isn't going to fight damian on it. he's resourceful, strong, clever. doesn't need jason despite how hard jason's trying to do good by him. support him. it's not necessary, when he's just as good at getting shit out of people as jason is. better, even. )

What am I gonna do with it? It's funds for the base, I'm stuck in here. ( with a gesture around to loki's small, cozy apartment before he's shoving the burrito back into his mouth, taking a moment to chew around the massive, weird-assed worm shit. )

I'll look for an apartment. We can move you there once I've secured something relatively safe and clean.

( no need to stress damian out further, is there. and jason can make due here. loki's place is great, if he's not going to kick jason out, he'll stay for a bit. it'll keep damian from being stupid too, so. )
