@jack.miller (morningstar network)
So, this was Jyn's idea, but since I'm here in the sim and have eyes and ears on things, guess you'll have to deal with me.
I think most of us want to take the UNA down a few pegs, to say the least, and we have an opportunity to do that now. Pretty much all of New Amsterdam is stuck in here with us, and they've got to be scared and pissed that this has happened to them. They're not used to this kind of thing, not like we are. If we can convince some of them of the truth, which is that the UNA is to blame for all of this by keeping Judas captive and using him for years, maybe we can finally start to change public opinion about them.
It may not help us get out of here. I know other people are working that angle. But while we're stuck in here, we may as well make the most of it.
I know some people have already been trying to appeal to New Amsterdam's citizens, to influence them or inspire them. [ Operation Hope. He's not willing to even use the term, but he assumes people will know what he means. ] We may not have access to any of our solid proof here, but if you have any personal accounts or information to share to give your claims more credibility, then spread that around.
If anyone wants to post something on the local network to get the word out, be my guest. I'm not much of a public speaker, and I'm sure there's someone else better suited to it.

Only Shadow Weaver's favorite form of punishment was electrocution. And she never made the mistake of waiting for her recruits to become adults first.

Charming. It sounds like your eyes got opened up to how wrong that all was, though.

I don't think the way she treated us as kids was justified. It was messed up.
But it made us strong, too.
I don't think that makes it okay. But it's not as simple as wrong or right for me. It's not like there's some magical alternate timeline where I grew up just fine. If the Horde hadn't taken me in, I'd just be dead, so. I have mixed feelings about it.
private
Either way, you're obviously not singing the Horde's praises, right? So you got your eyes opened in some way.
private etc
Don't get me wrong, though. I'm still with them.

Everyone always makes it sound SO simple. "Oh, you can just leave." Sure LOL. And then what? Live in Horde territory? We're not allowed to desert. A life on the run sounds so great! Oh, and I'm sure the Rebellion would just love to re-home a war criminal from the enemy! There's always the Crimson Wastes, I guess. Yeah, live out in the desert with all the other lawless criminals and deserters.
The Horde might be bad, but so what? You do well, you get promoted.
You get promoted high enough, you get power. And I'm good at what I do.
They're using me. I'm using them. Simple.

So you climb up the ranks, you get power. What then? You start electrocuting people too? Or are you going to try and actually change things?

[ For whatever that's worth. ]
I don't need her methods. I'm better at her job than she ever was without them.
Not 'cause I care about changing the system or whatever idealistic crap like that. I just want to stick it in her face.

And what's your opinion of the UNA?

[ But, not for the reasons perhaps that everyone else thinks. ]

Don't get me wrong, I'm not morally opposed to them.
They're just in my way.

I'm sure you can figure it out.

Well, either way, the information you shared might be useful as we try to engage with people, so I appreciate you offering it up.
