I don't think anyone would know to look at it, what you might have meant, if that's a comfort.
It was a good jape. :)
[Still trying to make that private, though. She understands that sort of caution.]

[like bloodraven, or even daeron the good...he sighs. he'll ask rey about it.]
Do you truly think fire is fitting? I've been burned before.

If that Stannis could learn what little sense it made to quibble over a crown that didn't even exist in that world and grudgingly exist besides his own brothers, and that Daenerys could be so kind as to see reason and heal father's leg even though she called him Usurper...
I have to believe it could be possible again.
[The idea of Petyr appearing here is something she's really rather not think of, though from time to time she does.]
It may not be the best of all things that might fit, but I do believe it does fit. In Anatole, father could conjure and shape ice. But I don't pretend to know the mind of this place, if it has one. It seems to be more of men than Gods or Twins or anything else.

[daenerys. the one who brought dorne under targaryen rule. it's a good name, and hopeful. he smiles a little.]
Father was always good with Ice. I'd rather not grow claws. :)
Did you ever name the sword I gave you? You had it in the dream.
[let's just...not talk about twins.]

She did a lot of good in Anatole when she was there, and I failed miserably at living up to what she left me when she was gone.
[Ned had built a replica of the glass gardens with that power, all out of ice. It's a thing she looks on with a fondness, and a little sadness.]
Wings, then? A sharp beak? :-) You know, claws would be very useful if they came and went at will.
I didn't. I couldn't settle on anything I liked well enough. I was only ever good at naming animals. And bestowing meaningless titles. I miss both things. I ...had it in most of what I dreamt, but there were times when I'd reach for it and it wasn't there at all.

[he's going to assume the dragons are a thing like ned having ice powers until told otherwise.]
And I'd rather have scales and claws than a beak. Though I think I would've noticed by now if there was anything growing out of me.
As for your sword--perhaps if you gave it a name it wouldn't disappear on you. We would've let you have Needle if we'd ever thought you might need a name for your own sword. Pin, maybe.

[It's complicated - because Jon was there, but it had been a different Jon - and through her own distractions and so many circumstances that were not intentional, she'd never grown as close to him as she had to ...this Jon. She knows that they're fundamentally the same, maybe completely the same in the way that she hadn't remembered anything of Clock when she'd returned to the Vale, only to come back and have it all muddled - so she amends it, closer to her what she's really beginning to believe.]
I wish you remembered that place as well as Clock. [She has regrets that she won't yet speak to. Thinking about the possibility of anyone arriving here has made them resurface from the dreams (and crypts and stones) they'd already lurked in.]
I was only japing about the beak. :-)
Pin is rather good. As good as Dark Sister or Lady Forlorn, and better than Widow's Wail. 🙄 🙄 [The only thing Joffrey ever struck with that blade was a book. Which was probably good, but it also spoke to what a spoiled, spiteful little coward he had been.]
Rey might be a good match for you as well. [You know, to help you find your power.]
no subject
[he wishes he had been there in king's landing, the vale (braavos, the whispering wood, the twins...). but he probably would've only been killed along with ned. and he was needed at the wall, as he tells himself over and over.]
A match for me as well?
[though jon has come to learn he has more in common with sansa than he ever knew, he struggles to think of anything they are equally well-matched with rey in.]
no subject
You would have liked Anatole.
I meant that she would be a good match to help you find out what your power could be. She's very insightful. That should seem to go hand in hand with being part of a line of mystics, but I'm sure it doesn't always. [that's what she thinks Jedi are ok] She's also resourceful and been here long enough that she's bound to have seen all sorts of powers.
Besides, you know each other already.

I told her about the bird house. She didn't want to live so close to other people. I think it's hard for her, being in the city. Even harder than it is for us. She knows the technology, but I saw where she lived as a child, in the dream. She was all alone, in a big metal ship. It was quiet there. Quieter than Winterfell.
She's already been helping us here. I told her we would help her too.
no subject
Oh, no. I'm sorry. That is hard, sometimes. [With people from other worlds, like Rey. With Arya. With you, even. She wonders for a moment if that ship was Rey's 'Falcon' that she spoke so fondly of.]
We should help her. Perhaps we can find her another place, not to live, but a sanctuary of sorts. Somewhere to go when it's all a bit too much.
We could bring the birds to her, then. Not all of them, of course. But maybe one?
Did anything strange happen to you in the dream that stood out more than other things? I mean to say, it was all strange, but some things...
no subject
What did I see, that was stranger than the monsters? You became a young girl again, when Arya the rabbit grew claws. A boy dug me out of a pit filled with a foul substance that got up Ghost's nose, and took me to a stinking city. I met a girl there, taller than me, and just as broad, but beautiful in her features, and with hair like yours. I fought my way out of a cave with ghost and Prompto. I met his dog, and he said how pretty and poised you were. Ghost made a friend of her, the dog Pryna, which was strange. I've never seen him take any notice of hounds before. Prompto said she was a messenger of his gods.
And the underwater place was very strange. I saw Fitz there among the ghost-people. He did not appreciate me saying this on the Network just then.
Heine found me in the crypts of Winterfell. I saw Winterfell. It was clearer than in my usual dreams, and empty. Lady found me in the crypts, too.
