China, though. What do you know about China? a memory within a memory replaying. He ignores the request for a picture in favor of—]
Were you the one painting in my dream? In Greektown.

[ that narrows it down. ]
That was me. Hello again, Markus. I didn't know if I'd find you this quickly.

Never managed to catch your name, but I guess I have it now. It sounds like you made it out of the dreams in one piece.

I didn't realize the dreams would affect us so much, or the world for that matter. Or, maybe I did and I was too careless - either way, you're not badly hurt are you? I looped through Greektown for so long I thought I was ripping it to pieces by the end. Not that you were so bad at raising hell yourself~~ You should cut loose more often, mister!

Your traipsing through Greektown wasn't what got me hurt. You can blame a different kind of recklessness for that, but I'm fine now.
Though I did have fun literally painting the town red.
[And forest green and marine blue and light orange and neon pink-]

[ on a different note: ]
AH! Me too! I almost didn't think I'd be able to lure you into it, but you surprised me, you're a very surprising man.

[He's joking with you, of course. And it's a little aside to distract from the actual horrible way in which he died. So!!!! Markus is more than glad to move on.]
Sometimes I do a lot of surprising things; especially if it's for the sake of upending the kind of "order" you saw in my dream. But on a different note, if you're ever interested in doing something like that again (art-wise), you should let me know when we return to New Amsterdam. It isn't as messy as what we did in our dreams, but you might find it just as fun.
[That street art life... entrenched deep in it for shrine purposes and also just because he can.]

[ he's only half-joking, as he doesn't want to get into such things as medicine and qi with markus. not right now, and certainly not over their thought-to-text communications. modern medicine in this place has deviated so far from what he knows that it's practically two different forms of practice, and he doesn't know how much he trusts it. ]
Oh, Mister Markus, oh! You're speaking my LANGUAGE right now! I'll be sure to keep this in mind. What sort of art do you do, is there a style you prefer - I'm very good with inks, mostly. Where I come from, we don't have digital mediums - but, I'm sure you can tell that by now - and I've been practicing with some of the programs you can download on the enter-net. Nobody told me I could sculpt invisible art and work with, what's the really bright glowing stuff? Neon?

I never dabbled in digital or virtual art until I visited this world, actually.
[This android never really had a chance to deeply explore any personal art avenues at all, really, not until he was swept up in transdimensional kidnapping and arrived in New Amsterdam. But that isn’t really worth mentioning, since it’s attached to a story he isn’t sure he wishes to relay right now.]
I prefer traditional mediums. Mostly oil on canvas, but what I would do to have access to a sketchbook and pencil here. But in the city? Mural or grafiti work is becoming increasingly interesting to me.
I’d like to see some of the what you’ve done so far. And actually, if you’re intrigued by neon, it doesn’t exist solely in the digital landscape. I know of a studio/workshop back in New Amsterdam that focuses solely on physical neon art. Other artists have made inspiring pieces on display there; you should come with me to look sometime.

[ they had quite nearly torn greektown in two with their antics. ]
I hear you there. I miss the feeling of paper under my fingers, ink and how unforgiving it can be if one isn't cautious in applying their brush. I spend most of my time doodling in space and on people's faces, unbeknownst to them - it's such fun! As for the neon work, I've seen the lights - they're beautiful, the way the glass contains the light. If you don't mind, we'll make a date of it and everything.
[ he's teasing i promise ]
I'd enjoy the exposure. What is graffiti like?

[A consciousness unbound by overthinking. "Close your eyes and paint what you feel" was ever the default state, a truth he's certain must be universal, even in the limited time he's been housed in a human body.]
Yes, you thought my face was a canvas there for a moment, too. But I'd be happy to take you out to try something different. Maybe you'll surprise yourself and fall in love with a new medium.
[It can be a fRIENDSHIP date.
As for graffiti, well. Markus just sends a link to his Cooltalk, which displays various examples on his dash.]
It's whatever the artist wants it to be. But it's often done only when the opportunity presents itself, outside of the eyes of authority and on public buildings. Sometimes it's social propaganda, sometimes it's just expression. But it can get messy, in the good kind of way.
Kind of like what we did in my dream.
