Hey. There's a lot of old information on this, and that's great. Really. But it's also a l o t for newcomers to try and sift through. There was some talk of a guide, which would be awesome? Even if it's just a basic rundown of world stuff that isn't the wiki-ish pages of the internet that just assume we know crap, it'd be helpful.

Back home, I was on a team called the Young Avengers. We went on a multiverse jumping spree for several months, so this isn't my first rodeo. It is the first place I've been to where we woke up with our abilities locked away and given new ones. Super weird btw, I'm not fond of it. As someone who already went through the whole "traumatic event waking up your mutant powers" thing, I'm not up for round two. But it means I've got some history with jumping around to different places.

I've got a place outside the safe house already, but it's not really a space meant for more than one or MAYBE two people, and we've got three. So if anyone has ideas for an easy job to get into for new arrivals, let me know? Disclaimer: I've never had an actual job before. And I didn't have much of an idea of what to set up an ID with since, I really don't have any experience doing workforce things.

[ He's just going to be jogging around town anyway. Getting a scope of the city and burning off excess energy. ]

( and billy waits outside the safehouse, hands shoved down into his pockets and lips pressed tight together. stiff, but not unmoving. he shifts his weight from foot to foot, doesn't quite sit still even if it's nothing close to tommy's level of fidgeting. )

[ HATE REGULAR MOTION RUNNING. It's good training to get him to not try to use his speed powers, though. He'd doubled over more than a few times trying to activate them.

But he'll be there soon enough. A little out of breath. And. Hating it. ]

I can definitely rule out any of my old powers.

( it's a new state of tommy: tired. billy recognizes the white hair before he even gets close, turns towards him and )

I can't believe a jog was enough to tire you out.

( it's so sad... how will tommy ever cope. )

Shut up.

[ goes to punch him in the shoulder!! and then remembers that this isn't HIS billy, just A billy, and softens the blow a bit. ]

This sucks.

( softens it a bit but it's still there. billy raises his own hand, shoves a palm against tommy's shoulder after before leaning a bit into his side. )

Tell me about it. I went from ( free hand raising and fingers moving out in front of him, like he's going to try and cast some witchy stuff, but. u kno. ) to nothing. It's very inconvenient.

[mutriarchy]

[ He ruffles Billy's hair affectionately. And annoyingly. ]

Inconvenient is one way of putting it. But let's see what they gave us instead. [ he mirrors the witchy hands ] Maybe we just got swapped. That'd still suck but it wouldn't be so bad -- for me. You'll probably just make yourself puke.

I really, really don't want super speed. That's definitely way more your thing than mine. I'd puke a lot, all the time.

( also: rude. luckily his hair is still short enough that ruffling it doesn't ruin it too much, but he does give tommy the stink eye in response. and raises both hands up to try and fuss it back into place. )

I miss teleporting the most.

You do it every time I pick you up, and my you's teleporting skills are not great. So we usually end up cornered by a bunch of pissed off SHIELD agents.

( look just because billy says it doesn't mean tommy can, wtf. don't pick on him. )

I've had about a year of practice with Loki--and even before that, I'd gotten a pretty good handle on teleporting. There are still a lot of things I struggle with though. ( but -- ) What SHIELD agents?

[mutriarchy]

Color me impressed. Last time you tried to teleport us into the bedroom wall.

[ alright, alright, lets just get comfortable in a corner of the safehouse we can potentially blow shit up with. He'll just walk backwards as he talks, he's got enough spatial awareness to not bump into anyone or anything. ] SHIELD protects the borders between Domains, and the Red Guard is the family's personal guard. They love Gramps, they hate us.

I teleported a massive truck from out in the open to a secure building, once. And it was full of people. Er, prisoners. Right after getting one of those power inhibitor collars off.

( so he can!! teleport!!! just fine. don't sass him. tommy walks backwards, and billy follows behind him. keeps pace easy enough. ) Right, Magneto.

( he's still settling into the idea of being raised with wanda, pietro, and magneto. thanks. )

Who's part of the Red Guard? I'm guessing they don't like us because we don't have the same ideals, right.

They're pro-status quo, but they'll do whatever the Baron says. [ which... means some bad things if pietro's in charge. ] They hate us because we cause civil unrest and keep trying to buck the established order. The main crew is made up of Sebastian Shaw, Wolverine, Mystique, Nightcrawler, and Marrow.

( billy and tommy, ""civil unrest"" causers. sounds about right. considering tommy's history on his own side of the universe and billy's inability to let things be, he bets the pair of them raised together would cause havoc.

There are some SHIELD agents here. Daisy Johnson. Leo Fitz. Familiar with them?

[ There's the barest flicker of unease on his face. He's been trying pretty hard not to really think about that, what the change in leadership means. Magneto had been a nightmare, but Pietro was power hungry and their mom was unstable. And he's pretty sure if things go the way he thinks they're going to go, they're going to need to overthrow him themselves. ]

Let's get settled before I get into that one.

I don't know about Fitz, but Daisy is an Inhuman. Quake. Ex leader of SHIELD?

( tbh maybe not information he should share if tommy doesn't already know, but billy isn't great at secrets, anyway. and he doesn't have teddy to blab at over everything, tommy will do. )

I'm not worried about them getting weird at us or anything though. So they're probably okay?

( SHIELD has never been an issue for billy, anyway? sounds like it is for tommy. hopefully that isn't the case here, but fitz seemed open and helpful enough, maybe he can just ask. . )

[ oh. hm. he makes a note to maybe go bother her later. ]

Inhumans don't come around the Monarchy. I'm pretty sure the Kingdom of Manhattan is their Domain, so she might run the branch there. I'm pretty sure we don't have anything to worry about from these guys, unless this is a really elaborate long con and they're gonna off us for being outside our Domain.

[ Anyway, corner with nothing around it so they can't destroy much. Cool. ]

The Kingdom of Manhattan. ( he. makes a face at that. nose scrunched up, brows furrowed. okay. good to know.

billy turns into the corner. presses his back right up into it. keeps eyes on tommy himself. )

The whole Domain thing is still really weird.

Is it not a Kingdom where you're from?

[ okay, circling back. ]

So, the Baron is the ruler of the Domain. Usually a King, sometimes an elected official, but usually royalty. They're the ones in charge and they keep order. And... Gramps was the Baron of the Monarchy of M.

No. It's part of New York City. The boroughs I'm from, actually--we live in Chelsea. ( him, teddy. tommy used to but tommy is tommy and does his own thing, there's no point in ever trying to get him to stay. )

Was. ( so magneto is out. okay. what options does that leave-- ) So then there's, what? Lorna? Pietro?

[mutriarchy]

The Walled City? [ He squints. But he'll get back to not understanding Billy's weird world in a minute. ]

Uncle Pietro and mom. And consider Pietro's the one who allegedly killed him... [ LIFE ISN'T ALL FUN AND GAMES IN HOUSE OF M. ] He said Aunt Lorna was dead too, but I really don't buy that one. But Pietro offered to rule with Mom, as equals.

So, Mom rules but she's absolutely nuts and Pietro's power hungry and kind of stupid and hates humans, and he allied himself with Namor who hates all of us so that's not gonna last. The Monarchy is going to go to hell under their thumb or be usurped.

[ Claps him on the shoulder lightly. ]

And now you're caught up on Keeping Up with the Magnuses. Our family is a nightmare.

Oh. ( magneto isn't out, he's dead. lorna is dead. he's never really spent time with her but it doesn't mean her being dead is any less--bad? his expression falls, arms crossing over his chest. )

Wanda--isn't nuts. She's got some problems, sure. But not nuts. Depressed, probably. Anxiety? I bet. And her support system's been terrible. God, all the-- ( the things that have happened in her life. the terrible, terrible circumstances that have befallen the scarlet witch. the person who picked billy back off the ground when he really needed it, who told him to stand his ground, even if he--didn't. but billy really does not need to get into that now. ) But it does sound like a nightmare. I don't know how you deal with it. Or my you does.

I know I couldn't. Or Namor. He's a huge jerk.

[mutriarchy]

[ Tommy considers him for a long moment. ]

I got you.

[ He honestly can't fathom not having Billy. And Billy growing up without him? Who'd be there to bump his ego down when it got too big, or boost him when he needed it? It's terrible, he doesn't want to think about it. ]

Mom... has problems. I don't know what your Scarlet Witch [ he can't call her wanda, it's too weird ] but ours deconstructed the better part of the castle in a fit after I blew up the dining room. She'd never hurt us - but anybody who hurt us? Anybody who threatened us?

[ his expression turns somber. ]

Humans who never did anything wrong, but aren't like us so they could be a threat to us? Pietro will point her to them and she'll destroy them all.
