Hey. There's a lot of old information on this, and that's great. Really. But it's also a l o t for newcomers to try and sift through. There was some talk of a guide, which would be awesome? Even if it's just a basic rundown of world stuff that isn't the wiki-ish pages of the internet that just assume we know crap, it'd be helpful.

Back home, I was on a team called the Young Avengers. We went on a multiverse jumping spree for several months, so this isn't my first rodeo. It is the first place I've been to where we woke up with our abilities locked away and given new ones. Super weird btw, I'm not fond of it. As someone who already went through the whole "traumatic event waking up your mutant powers" thing, I'm not up for round two. But it means I've got some history with jumping around to different places.

I've got a place outside the safe house already, but it's not really a space meant for more than one or MAYBE two people, and we've got three. So if anyone has ideas for an easy job to get into for new arrivals, let me know? Disclaimer: I've never had an actual job before. And I didn't have much of an idea of what to set up an ID with since, I really don't have any experience doing workforce things.

So, the Baron is the ruler of the Domain. Usually a King, sometimes an elected official, but usually royalty. They're the ones in charge and they keep order. And... Gramps was the Baron of the Monarchy of M.

No. It's part of New York City. The boroughs I'm from, actually--we live in Chelsea. ( him, teddy. tommy used to but tommy is tommy and does his own thing, there's no point in ever trying to get him to stay. )

Was. ( so magneto is out. okay. what options does that leave-- ) So then there's, what? Lorna? Pietro?

The Walled City? [ He squints. But he'll get back to not understanding Billy's weird world in a minute. ]

Uncle Pietro and mom. And consider Pietro's the one who allegedly killed him... [ LIFE ISN'T ALL FUN AND GAMES IN HOUSE OF M. ] He said Aunt Lorna was dead too, but I really don't buy that one. But Pietro offered to rule with Mom, as equals.

So, Mom rules but she's absolutely nuts and Pietro's power hungry and kind of stupid and hates humans, and he allied himself with Namor who hates all of us so that's not gonna last. The Monarchy is going to go to hell under their thumb or be usurped.

[ Claps him on the shoulder lightly. ]

And now you're caught up on Keeping Up with the Magnuses. Our family is a nightmare.

Oh. ( magneto isn't out, he's dead. lorna is dead. he's never really spent time with her but it doesn't mean her being dead is any less--bad? his expression falls, arms crossing over his chest. )

Wanda--isn't nuts. She's got some problems, sure. But not nuts. Depressed, probably. Anxiety? I bet. And her support system's been terrible. God, all the-- ( the things that have happened in her life. the terrible, terrible circumstances that have befallen the scarlet witch. the person who picked billy back off the ground when he really needed it, who told him to stand his ground, even if he--didn't. but billy really does not need to get into that now. ) But it does sound like a nightmare. I don't know how you deal with it. Or my you does.

I know I couldn't. Or Namor. He's a huge jerk.

[mutriarchy]

[ Tommy considers him for a long moment. ]

I got you.

[ He honestly can't fathom not having Billy. And Billy growing up without him? Who'd be there to bump his ego down when it got too big, or boost him when he needed it? It's terrible, he doesn't want to think about it. ]

Mom... has problems. I don't know what your Scarlet Witch [ he can't call her wanda, it's too weird ] but ours deconstructed the better part of the castle in a fit after I blew up the dining room. She'd never hurt us - but anybody who hurt us? Anybody who threatened us?

[ his expression turns somber. ]

Humans who never did anything wrong, but aren't like us so they could be a threat to us? Pietro will point her to them and she'll destroy them all.

I don't believe any Scarlet Witch could do that. ( firm. billy tilts his head up, looks right into tommy's eyes. ) Er. Well. I'm sure some could. I've met some weird versions of myself, too. Evil ones.

But any Scarlet Witch who could raise you, handle both of us. Raise you to care so much. She couldn't do that.

( and despite everything, billy loves his own wanda. knows how hard she tries and hopes, knows she'll get a handle on things, because she's strong. capable. has been working hard over the years. he believes in her. )

I. I don't like it. Thinking like either of them like that. I'm sorry, that that's the family you live with.

[ he shakes his head. He gets how it'd be hard to get it - a loving mother doesn't make a loving monarch. They run her ragged, but they know she'd never hurt them.

Humans? Not so much.

But he won't push it. This Billy didn't grow up with her and Tommy. ]

I'm being all doom and gloom... Chances are things won't turn out that bad. All I know is if Gramps is okay then Pietro better pray he doesn't get exiled to the Deadlands.

[ which swings the conversation back around. ]

So, okay, explain your world to me. I don't get it.

I'm not quite sure where to start. I mean, there's other planets, but we're from Earth. On Earth, there's seven continents. We were born in North America--first to the Scarlet Witch and Vision, then a second time to uh. You were born to the Shepherds in New Jersey, I don't know a lot about them. I was born to the Kaplans. There's the Avengers, the X-Men, the Guardians of the Galaxy. the Champions--and a lot of other teams.

( it's a little hard to explain his world when it's the one he's used to. )

No domains, just countries, state lines, city lines. Governments. Then countries like Atlantis, Tha-Korr, with Namor--the first mutant. Latveria, Dr. Doom's country. And everything's always, always crazy. There are always ways, always infighting. Always people trying to stop others.

[ okay, he has questions, he opens his mouth to answer that and then there's a record scratch and ]

Victor von Doom. Guy who caused M-Day, which--was blamed on Wanda, and caused a lot of problems. Very powerful magic, candidate for Sorcerer Supreme. Also a super genius and super crazy.

[mutriarchy]

[ Hold on.

Hold on, hold on, hold on. What kind of backwards world does he live in? ]

I caught like every other word there. God Per Doom? No. He's not a god, even if he kind of wishes he was and maybe was for four seconds.

God Emperor Doom. [ slowly, enunciating every syallable. how dare you not understand him. oh my god ] He and Strange are both Doctors?

I'm not that slow.

( just not a speedster either. )

They're both [ GESTURES ] Gods? They made the world, like, milleniums ago!

The Demiurge kind of does that. Across the multiverse.

( lips pressing tight together, giving himself a moment to take a breath before-- )

I'm kind of going to be the Demiurge, some time in the future? I guess.

( these are a lot of questions and he isn't quite equipped to answer them all. )

The Demiurge thing is still new to me. I'd say ask Loki, but I doubt he's going to share much. Two: the multiverse is the multiverse. It's. there are a lot more than just one universe out there. There are ones where the Skrulls took over everything, where the Kree did--Noh-varr did it a few times. Or yours where Doom is a god. And Strange is! That's weird to me!

Three, I don't know. I guess. I had a moment where I could see everything. Change things. It was--powerful? But kind of terrifying. It's complicated.

( everything is complicated. )

And no one says Doomsakes where I'm from.

Apparently, that's because Doom isn't your God.

[ Rubbing his forehead. Okay, okay. None of this makes any fucking sense. ]

There is no multiverse. There's Battleworld -- Latverion -- and the sun, and the moon, and that's it. That's all we have.

[ just. ]

Except you're here now, in a another universe.

( nose scrunching up a bit. )

So uh, you're kind of still in the multiverse? Maybe Doom was lying?

I wouldn't be surprised, but I can only tell you what I know. He made the world, and we're - we've always been there.

[ ??????????????? ]

The closest thing to the "multiverse" we have is the Domains, and you can't leave without permission because you might muck something else up. But those are - physical places you can go to with permission. Doomsake, I've been to Doomstadt.

I've been to Latveria. It's different.

( doom making the world fits with what he said of m-day. it fits. although it's weird to think about tommy coming from that. )

The multiverse isn't something a lot of people can get through--America can. Loki kind of can? But he's, you know. Loki.

America never mentioned the multiverse and - who the hell is Loki? Lady Loki?

I'm pretty sure Loki just goes as whatever gender Loki feels like on any given day. I mean, Loki's gone around as a girl before, but I also know Loki's reincarnated--twice? Recently. So I don't really know where he stands right now when it comes to genderfluidity--but, chaos god.

( with a loose lift of his shoulders, arms still wrapped tight over his chest. )

Loki was a kid, after dying and coming back. ( skipping over the horrible bits-- ) I wished him back to full-size. That's the one we have here.
