It would help, yeah. They're good books, there's six. They're kind of like Chronicles of Narnia if you have ever read those. It's not like high culture or anything, they're fantasy books I read a lot as a child.

(it's difficult to read an entire series of books when you live in an apocalypse. sometimes an abandoned house will gift you books one and two, and then you'll search for months trying to find the third after already, randomly, discovering the fifth somewhere else entirely– it's a whole thing, unfortunately.)

Yeah so I'm going to tell you something cool. These books were written as fantasy, the writer thought they were just stories told by the kids next door. But they're all real. Magic in my world is real so they were telling him true stories. So that'll make everything that happens kind of more interesting.
