Think there's connection between Gold god and grief/peace combo. Maybe rage and searching, too.

When Aerie vanished, experienced Blue god shattering. [ Which he does not want to discuss in detail, thanks. ] Was underwater. Gold-eyed animals around. Felt cold, then rage. Searched for something. Gold eyes dimmed. Then felt grief, then peace.

When monsters attacked in May, some infected people. Eyes glowed gold, turned on allies. Could cure infected using empathy bond. Contact would burn first. Then feel peaceful, then sad.

Wasn't here July 2511. Guide mentions curing unnatural rage with empathy bond. Says it came with intense despair.

Don't know who's making sense of this shit. [ Hence posting this on the network rather than going to someone directly. ] Seems like pattern.

Someone had made a post a few weeks earlier about James Henries and Johann Grey.
Multiple connects can be drawn between the information presented in that post and what you've shared here; given what we know about Grey's connection with the gold-eyed monsters as well as Henries' involvement with killing the god, along with their different objectives, it almost gives the impression that we're here to settle an age-old score between them.

and in the gate ruins in cairo, there was a lot of gold symbolism
the eyes of horus were all gold, and some of the pharoahs had glowing gold chests
there was a lot of gold around ra, too
i don't know how much that fits, but the eye of horus is a protective symbol and it's used in tombs a lot
but there had to be a reason the egyptians were connecting gold with horus and ra, right?

There was a dream about soldiers with golden eyes too. I didn't have it, but I think @quentin.coldwater did.

After Grey experimented on one of the Displaced, she had golden eyes when she was hunting. She was healed the same way, with the touch.

Yeah you're right. Jónsson it was a dream about different soldiers throughout time with golden eyes in like a formation. There were Romans, Macedonians, Napoleon's army, crusaders, Mongolians, and US soldiers during the Normandy. I'm not sure if the dream was indicating all these people were possessed by the golden god, but if the god is like their god of war here, it would make sense.

I experienced the death of Blue after the Aerie too.

Perhaps the searching feeling was Gold looking for Blue. When the gold eyed monsters swarmed the world in May, they were be drawn to us and to our glow whenever we used our powers.

The feeling of grief. Mourning a fellow god? Realizing the change? I think you are right about the god connection.

Maybe someone should speak to the Cultists about their thoughts on this.

[ Relief and gratitude hit Maine in equal measure. Relief that he's not alone in his thoughts; gratitude that Cassian put them into words. Cassian did a much better job of it than Maine ever could. ]

Got that impression, too. Rage at Blue shattering. Searching. Grieving.

[ How appropriate that the final part — the eventual peace — didn't leave as much of an impact on Maine. He's always struggled with acceptance. ]

I'm relatively new so I've yet to experience these gold-eyed monsters.

Yet, from what I know, it does seem likely about the grief leading to peace connection.
Perhaps they haven't quite moved on from Blue's shattering? Or they had, but then we appeared and opened up old wounds.
