@august.jónsson

Think there's connection between Gold god and grief/peace combo. Maybe rage and searching, too.

When Aerie vanished, experienced Blue god shattering.
[ Which he does not want to discuss in detail, thanks. ] Was underwater. Gold-eyed animals around. Felt cold, then rage. Searched for something. Gold eyes dimmed. Then felt grief, then peace.

When monsters attacked in May, some infected people. Eyes glowed gold, turned on allies. Could cure infected using empathy bond. Contact would burn first. Then feel peaceful, then sad.

(Had weird dream before monsters attacked. Pack of creatures searching for blue. More here.)

Wasn't here July 2511. Guide mentions curing unnatural rage with empathy bond. Says it came with intense despair.

Don't know who's making sense of this shit.
[ Hence posting this on the network rather than going to someone directly. ] Seems like pattern.

That's it.

In Zerzura, the spear had a feeling of grief, too.
I think the spear linked to the blue god.

Maybe it's obvious, but gold and blue are complimentary colors too. On the color wheel.

[ So. They're definitely working with a theme here. ]

[ he won't divulge. he last until the Aerie's end, but he did die in Zerzura after touching the spear. ]

You mean whatever weapon was used?
That checks out.
It could still be out there.

Thank you for this information.

Someone had made a post a few weeks earlier about James Henries and Johann Grey.
Multiple connects can be drawn between the information presented in that post and what you've shared here; given what we know about Grey's connection with the gold-eyed monsters as well as Henries' involvement with killing the god, along with their different objectives, it almost gives the impression that we're here to settle an age-old score between them.

[ Ephemera feels absurdly grateful that they're not doing this face to face. He has no idea what he'd do if they were, or what he's supposed to feel.

So. In the meantime, he offers what information he has. ]

It's just color theory. Basic shit. Might not mean anything.

They may not be, but we can safely assume Grey and Henries are.
Pitting old friends against each other seems like something this world has no trouble with doing.

there were gold eyed monsters in the ruins, too
and in the gate ruins in cairo, there was a lot of gold symbolism
the eyes of horus were all gold, and some of the pharoahs had glowing gold chests
there was a lot of gold around ra, too
i don't know how much that fits, but the eye of horus is a protective symbol and it's used in tombs a lot
but there had to be a reason the egyptians were connecting gold with horus and ra, right?

Yeah, I agree on that count.

It was good of you to do. I think that finding Gold is going to be important to what we do moving forward.

That being said — if this comes up again, and you ain't feeling up for it, I ain't got a problem making it for you. If not me, then Larry or one of the others, yeah? You've got options.

how should i fucking know?

[ He regrets it almost as soon as he presses SEND. Because this isn't supposed to devolve into a fight, is it?

Fuck.

The followup comes a little later. ]

I don't know anything about gods. But two of my family were really into the commedia dell'arte. Comedy-tragedy. Two sides of the same coin. They seem like opposites but they're not. They work in concert.

maybe
ra's a creator god and the god of the sun
horus is a sky god
they're both pretty closely linked, and they've both got falcon heads
and you know, maybe that doesn't mean much since all egyptian gods have animal characteristics and stuff
but maybe it means something that all the monsters we've seen have gold eyes and gold was linked to egypt, with all their animal deities
and not like
greek or norse gods
you know?
