Has Victorian flower languages come back in style yet? Bookbinding and leathercraft seems obsolete by now, but what about backgammon or cards. I once lost a game of trappola to the Duchess of Ferrara, she was shark. Scrabble? Does that work with the translator? Pomme de terre is about twice as many points as potato.

Well you guys can borrow them. I literally can recite every word of them. Although it's still so nice to have the smell of a book.

The books are cool, probably more cool if you know that they're real. But the writer was a very bad dude so there's kind of a complex feeling around it.

The writer of the books was uh a pedophile. He's a really bad dude, but the books aren't even really his. He was just copying down the stories magic users told him, he never experienced them himself.

FOR REAL. I mean I was obsessed with the books, and like I said they're actually real, and I'm even in them, I just didn't know it was me. That came later, I was just a random character in it. Very meta. There's a lot of time travel and loops in my world. Anyway. Yeah. He was a terrible person, and very dead now, but I've owned these books my whole life so it's like what do you do, burn them?

I find myself oddly grateful the only thing I have to worry about for my own work is that some posh white prick will claim in his research that my poems were written for a woman.

No, no. Though some has been stolen over the years, I don't really care about that. Every couple of centuries some scholar will find my poems of Nicolò and in their heteronormative delusion decide that they were written of women.

Will at least had the decency to describe us all as men, even if he was disparaging my own poetry in the process. There is no scholarly interpretations that the Fair Youth is a woman.
