@bellamy.blake
If there's anyone here who needs to learn how to use a gun, I'd be willing to instruct.
Gaby wants it made clear that the guns are for missions only. If we get caught with them, they won't be able to get us out of that easily.
[ or at all, but bellamy doesn't think it's beneficial to be that blunt. ]

[ Very Seriously.
but he's not a joiner, so who knows. ]

Even during your lessons.
[Though, yes, Clarke can understand why the restriction was laid down. She's just being a Pain.]

[ it'S FINE ]
It might end up being just one or two people, if I get any takers.

I know you're a fine teacher. I haven't forgotten.

You were a good student. Even if you couldn't stand me.
[ flips over to private. ]
I think we handled introducing guns to our people better. I don't know what'll happen if some of these people have to defend this place again.
private.
Assuming theirs are more useful in a fight.
private.
[ though some of that is pettiness; bellamy hasn't even managed to trigger his own yet. ]
Do you think we made the right choice? Passing over the opportunity to join them?
private.
[No, she hasn't even told anyone what it is. But she sure has triggered it.]
As for not joining them—I would prefer that they aren't responsible for any choices we need to make down the line.
[Or to be beholden to them, but she assumes they can read this.]
Re: private.
[ as for the second statemet—
it's what he thought as well, but it's nice to have it echoed back, reminding him that they're still on the same page. ]
You're right. Maybe something will change, but I think we can manage to have a working relationship with them without giving them anything else.
private.
[Clarke has already encountered people angling to keep their power a secret. She's keeping hers a secret. Then again, Bellamy didn't ask.
A lot of them are on edge, and a lot of that has to do with what came before. This situation just exacerbates it.]
From what I understand, I might need to have something to offer them. We might need to put our heads together on that one, because they are a useful ally.
[If not likely to blur into the lines of being "friends" like Clarke's other "allies." The quotation marks are exhaustively necessary.]
private.
[ and the lack of it. unsurprising. ]
Lucky for us, what's going to be useful for our purposes will probably be useful for theirs.
If things work out with the police, that'll give us something. I think they'll be more than interested in what I can get through that position.
private.
[It's not like they're known for their trust. Clarke in particular interrogated Gaby on day one, and she doesn't regret it.]
As long as that helps those who are stuck with us. Not all of them will need it, or want it.
[The evolution of Clarke's view here: what she told Rey at the beginning is gradually becoming truer as time passes. They aren't responsible for everyone. They can't be. But she's uneasy about the whole narrative of owing Morningstar. Of feeling like they have to work with them, rather than to fight for themselves. Clarke knows Morningstar hasn't fed into that, but she expects that other shoe to drop.]
I'm beginning to take courses so that when they come to me, I'm better prepared. That could make me an asset, too. Should.
Better than trying to access medical files with limited permissions.

[ another thing that's easier to type out than say to her face. ]
But it'll help. It'll be something until we have better access to information.
private.
Things have changed here. And my mom isn't here to finish training me, so it's better that I look into it myself.
We'll see where things go.

If he starts looking into getting a prosthetic, you'll be able to be of more help to him than I will. I can't tell what's good and what isn't.
private.
Does he know you're telling me about him? I'm happy to reach out.

private.
I'll mention it.

[It is, after all, a sensitive one.]

[ it's hard to know what kind of leaders these people are this early on. ]

But if he stays close to them, he might know. I don't know if he plans on trying to work with them.

[Read: her asking. Clarke is trying to respect Murphy here, but she isn't always the best at Boundaries.]
