Riverstone is interested in cooperating with the Displaced to learn more about the people who brought us here. They figured out who I was when I put in the paperwork to change my name back. Apparently, I'm still on the UN's most wanted list, but someone prevented the UN from acting to bring me into custody. 

I don't know who, and neither does Riverstone — in fact, they asked me about it.

But they know that I'm one of the Displaced, which actually explains a few things. I've been working for Riverstone for months. After I went to Everest, I was gone a bit longer than the rest of us, well beyond El's coverage. They gave me back my job anyway. I don't think this was news to them. If you ask me, that's a sign they're not out to get us, but I realize not everyone will agree there.

Now they want to talk to all of us, or as many of us as are interested. Riverstone is offering to pay travel expenses in New Beijing for one week for anyone who wants to undergo observation and testing of their power, and who's willing to answer some questions. I know that sounds scary. I know scary. The UNA had me in custody for some time, running "tests." But Riverstone claims that what they're offering is different, that we'll preview everything first.

Before you decide, I should mention ... they think they might know something about who's been dropping us off. In return for our cooperation, they're willing to exchange that information. 

I'm not telling anyone what to do, and no one else should try to do that either. But if follow (this) link, you can register your information with the Riverstone employees in charge of this, and they'll reach out to you to arrange the trip.

But your world isn't this one. Isn't it Clarke who's always saying that?

This isn't our world, but it isn't yours, either. Rescue missions don't always go off without a hitch.

[That's a big assumption on his part, but he can't imagine why she'd be so unconcerned about this otherwise.]

I was in that mountain as part of the rescue team while they used my friends as lab rats, and a lot of people died because I couldn't save them. They played nice at first too.

I expected Clarke to treat me like a child. Not you.

[ bellamy was one of the few people she felt relieved she still had around. that's why she'd texted him about new beijing. it doesn't feel like he's on her side now.

but it's easy to slip into the mindset of rey, alone against the world, after such a big loss of so many people. what's one more raindrop in a flood? ]

I'm not. I'm trying to get you to understand where we're coming from.

I know where you're coming from! I've been hearing about where you're coming from every time Clarke wants things to go a particular way for a year.

But you obviously haven't considered where I'm coming from if you think my galaxy doesn't have its problems, if you think things don't go wrong.

[jettisons]

[It's a good thing she can't hear his frustrated sighing.]

Clarke's afraid too. And you haven't given me a good argument for risking this, just that we 'might' get answers about our friends and if anything goes wrong you'll be rescued.

I don't need to give you a good argument for why I'm doing something. I heard arguments, so I'm doing it.

If you're worried about me, you're welcome to come and be there with me. But I'm not expecting it and trying to convince you. I'm offering it.

This isn't just about you, even though you keep insisting it is. You're endangering my people with this. That's why I'm arguing it. Your choice is your choice, but there's a big chance you're taking that choice from my friends. The people who have saved my life over and over again.
