Riverstone is interested in cooperating with the Displaced to learn more about the people who brought us here. They figured out who I was when I put in the paperwork to change my name back. Apparently, I'm still on the UN's most wanted list, but someone prevented the UN from acting to bring me into custody. 

I don't know who, and neither does Riverstone — in fact, they asked me about it.

But they know that I'm one of the Displaced, which actually explains a few things. I've been working for Riverstone for months. After I went to Everest, I was gone a bit longer than the rest of us, well beyond El's coverage. They gave me back my job anyway. I don't think this was news to them. If you ask me, that's a sign they're not out to get us, but I realize not everyone will agree there.

Now they want to talk to all of us, or as many of us as are interested. Riverstone is offering to pay travel expenses in New Beijing for one week for anyone who wants to undergo observation and testing of their power, and who's willing to answer some questions. I know that sounds scary. I know scary. The UNA had me in custody for some time, running "tests." But Riverstone claims that what they're offering is different, that we'll preview everything first.

Before you decide, I should mention ... they think they might know something about who's been dropping us off. In return for our cooperation, they're willing to exchange that information. 

I'm not telling anyone what to do, and no one else should try to do that either. But if follow (this) link, you can register your information with the Riverstone employees in charge of this, and they'll reach out to you to arrange the trip.

The only thing I asked was that people not try to tell one another what they should and shouldn't do here.

I didn't want this fight.

Not only did you bring it, you're finding anything you can wrong with the way I say things to use as an excuse to treat me like an idiot.

I'm tired of the way you talk down to people like you always know what's best.

It's a conversation that needs to be had, especially since how you come across will impact how other people decide what to do.

But it's fine. Believe what you will. Assume we deserve to be treated like experiments.

If you want to assume the worst of me, go ahead.
But you're the last person who can criticize someone for how the choices they make impact others.

Is this about Ball's followers? The ones who put our faces on shrines without asking us if we wanted attention?

You don't get to set aside actions just when it's convenient to you, Rey. Or act as if people are innocent when you want someone to be your bad guy.

Because I'm not stepping up this time. Not for you.

I'm asking you to leave me and the other people who want to make our own choices be, the same people left you be when you and Stephen decided to announce yourselves.

[ clarke may have perceived rey's conversation about ball's followers as a critique of that, but it was in fact just rey navigating the reality of it and doing what she thought was appropriate management of the consequences. she'd defend clarke's right to do it, just as she'd supported damian trying to do what he'd been trying to do with vigilantism on and off. all things which would have affected the rest of the displaced, and all rey wants is the same dignity in turn. ]

Judas decided for us when we were shoved into a simulation like that. Would you really prefer we let it settle and see what comes of it? You've seen how the UN can twist a narrative. We can't let that happen to us, not when there have been and could be lasting consequences.

You don't get to make these choices for everyone just because you think you know what's best. You don't know any better than the rest of us.

Rey, you don't get to ignore uncomfortable realities just because someone doesn't like the choice you've made.

But as it is, we're done here. I assume Bellamy won't be around for much longer either.
