@hafid.alghul
I'm looking to gather information. Fill out the form below.
What is the name of your home planet? Do you know the specific designation of your universe?
What is the year in your native world?
What is the level of technology? What is the most advanced thing you know of?
Did you possess abilities prior to arrival? If so, how much of those abilities have you retained?
What power have you been given?
Do you have any form of criminal record?
Do you have any special skills that could be used to our advantage?

If there's a pattern with how we were chosen I intend to establish it.
I didn't think that needed to be spelled out.

"What power have you been given?" also seems unlikely to yield the data you're seeking.
I assume you're aware that individuals declaring their "powers" on public platforms has gone poorly in some universes.

I said I'm looking for information. Not everything goes towards one conclusion but it helps.
I want to know whether or not the abilities we've been given are something innate that has been awoken, something magical, or technological. And knowing the array of powers across the board makes that easier and the next time people lose their minds we can have some degree of organization.
But if you prefer swinging blindly then by all means, knock yourself out.

the powers some have found here are not innate

What information can you actually offer on the subject?

It's undeniably valuable information, and I don't want it in the wrong hands.
[ not necessarily Damian's hands, mind you, but anyone reading this post could use the information therein: The victims, Morningstar, and those with enough technical skill to hack their private server (or install wetware in the first place). SHIELD could be trusted with that information, and Fitz, well, he couldn't be. ]
That being said, if you would like to discuss theories on the origins of our new powers, I'm happy to do so.
At present, I agree with Thor. Not innate but of scientific/technological design.
[ thor!! he forgives u for calling him leonard u beautiful sasquatch. ]

What I want to know is how they're decided. What determines the ability. I have experienced with artificial abilities but those were the same across the board.
no subject
that's some piping hot info. uniform abilities. ]
Fascinating. What was the inception of those abilities?
For context, I know of an alien race that experimented on humans to embed latent abilities into their genetic code. Each ability manifested differently. I also know of organisation that extracted abilities from others and implanted them in new hosts. The former resulted in somewhat random manifestation, but the latter involved intentional selection.
[ He offers that information because Damian provided some of his own, paying it forward. ]
The determining factor for our abilities may come down to the process by which they were forced upon us.
[ Although Fitz concerns himself with "how" more than "why," he has given the matter some thought. It's a worthy pursuit. ]

He knows that the meta gene lays dormant in a surprising amount of the human race - but only manifests in a crisis or after a traumatic incident. There are a number of heroes who were given abilities due to some science experiment gone wrong, or deals with the devil, or just purposeful fucking themselves over for the purpose of wrecking other people.
Kryptonian nanomachines are not that. And he's not about to say anything about how far things went. ]
A stupid man with a big brain decided to get involved with the war on crime. He wanted to create a force that could protect the Earth.
[ He isn't sure. ]
This could be anything from genetic modification to nanomachines.

Echoes across the multiverse. Correlations, patterns, cosmic irony. ]
That's often the way it goes. You have to believe you're doing good.
[ perhaps especially when you're causing pain. Anyway. ]
Agreed re: genetic mods and nanomachines. Our rebel friend on the network, El, mentioned they thought the first transport of us was for weapons, not human cargo. I'm of the mind those aren't mutually exclusive categories, so I tend to throw my weight behind the theory that we're experimental weapons.
There's also the matter of our chests, which glow whenever we activate our powers, produce objects seemingly from within us, and ache after mysterious gaps in individual memory and time.

But that? That makes him feel better. After so many slap fights with Keith, it feels good to find someone that he feels sees sense. ]
That was exactly my thought. I suspect that the first group may have been unintentionally discovered, yet my group was deliberately released in an easy to locate area.
There's no visible hardware or wetware in our chests. The glow is either mystical, in the blood, or originates from elsewhere.
/ private
[ what a sensible turn of events. no visible hardware or wetware gives him pause, seeing as he won't rule it out until someone roots through their insides. ]
Could still be buried deep.
Though myself and others have been considering if the glow is elsewhere, as of late. Could be an unstable portal, leaking energy. Granted, it could also be the anchor keeping us fixed in this moment in spacetime, though not without issue.
[ seeing as Thor bloody disappeared for a while there and all. ]
/ private
I've gone as deep as bone and found nothing. It could be within the bone itself but that isn't a risk I'm willing to take.
If we were able to preform an autopsy we'd know more but to my knowledge no one has died, and even if they have, no one has held on to a corpse.
It may be tied to the abilities and the implant, given it activates with touch empathy. We might all possess mild dimension warping capabilities either due to modification or just by being here.
/ private forever
That's impressive. Good to know.
[ it's hard not to sound like a serial killer bruh. what type of person says that's impressive, jesus. ]
Only twelve have gone missing from our numbers, disappearing from within secure spaces without a trace. I don't think we'll get our hands on a corpse, unless we get particularly lucky.
Or unlucky, rather.
Your theory is a tenable one. Anything to do with spacetime and dimensional warping seems most likely, at this point.
no subject
What do you mean by disappeared?
no subject
[ Fitz sends a LINK. ]
As in the case of Thor, it's difficult to account for the manner of their disappearance. Another man, Tony Stark, has also disappeared and reappeared. It should be noted Thor is from a universe that I've designated A1, alternate to my own universe (shared with Stark), A2. A universes share significant overlapping characteristics not present in the other universes represented by our crew of displaced persons.
Not a pattern as of yet, but my fellow A2 residents and I have begun a trial check-in system to ensure all our time is accounted for.
[ Two A-Universe disappearances is enough to have him concerned that they're in danger. Few other groups of their size have arrived from the same point of origin. ]
Given what we know about our own multiversal displacements and the matter of our chests, it stands to reason we're flickering in and out of this reality. That is to say, if portals were opened, they haven't been closed. If there's quantum energy involved, it's leaking. And if we have fucked with the fabric of spacetime, it's now unravelling.
[ quantum physicist and doomsday prophet, at your service. ]

It could be that. I haven't experienced that level of deterioration where time travel or alternate universes have been involved, but these could be crude amateurs.
Are those who disappeared reappearing in the spot they vanished from? If so, it could be a boom tube being remotely activated. They may claim to have no access to teleportation, but that doesn't mean our enemies have the same limitations.
no subject
[ pls judge everyone with him hafid ]
Boom tube?
You mean an Einstein–Rosen bridge?
I was thinking along those lines as well.
