This is Kira Solo.
I heard people have spotted Ricky Ling. THE Ricky Ling. If you hear anything or see him yourself, will you let me know? I've already got my friends at Riverstone keeping an eye out.
Or if you've got ideas on how else we might find him ...
Someone told me that we're probably here for a reason. Maybe Ling has something to do with that.
[ she notes her name only to give the reminder that this is public. she's not rey to anyone but the displaced anymore. hopefully they'll bear in mind that the other citizens of new amsterdam are on this too. ]

If we were brought here, who's to say it's not the real one?
And if it's not the real one, then why bother writing him in at all?
[ it hasn't missed her that mentioning judas could be bad for (a) everyone in new amsterdam seeing this reasons, (b) judas could be seeing this reasons. she's slowly but surely getting better at the subtle approach. ]

For example:]
Specify the "we." As well as you can, anyway.

But especially those of us who are different, who've seen this kind of thing before.
[ zerzura is clue enough, right? there had been clues in zerzura. spinetail. maybe this was the same, but with ling. ]

I saw something like this before we saw something like this together.
[That is so damn vague.]
It feels different, Kira.

This isn't real.
But it's constructed from real parts, and by a real person. I just think if we could talk to Ling, we might learn something. But all I keep hearing are whispers that people have seen him.

He was in charge of Riverstone around the war.

[ Now she's making the connection. ]
What if he's like...one of those people who is very interested in doing what we're supposed to?
[ She doesn't know how else to put it, but those not really people give her the creeps. To have one in charge makes sense to her, honestly, but this kid lives in a town with the Joker so...
Take her perspective with the grain of salt it deserves. ]

@catra
... Sounds like an urban legend if you ask me. The guy's like, a billion years dead or whatever. Even if he was here, it's not like he'd be real. And if he was, then why's he hiding? Some hero.
People will make anything up when they need something positive to cling to.

But if there's even a chance that's not true, then finding out why he's in here could be a step towards figuring out a way to get out. Unless you've got a better lead.

Neither of which I'm any good at.

... At least that's what I'd do. If I were in charge.

[Possibly, he realizes, to decrease the likelihood of further catastrophic injury.]

But I don't think that's true. I think he's real.
