This is not the first time little messages have been sent out to us. The first time they came from Cassius, who has a direct connection to Johann Grey. I see Jyn has explained that already.

it was a delivery invoice from sometime in March requesting a whole lot of questionable genetic doodads or smth

couldnt make heads or tails of a lot of the stuff he was asking for but it looks like he was using a company that ships goods outside the city

ill add the email 2 the report, maybe u can make sense of it

It was an experiment set up in the Mariana Trench, but it failed and everyone died.
