@matches.malone

yo

looking for some information on the lower bits of the cities and other shit

1: who has a decent amount of experience dealing with their bullcrap?
2: the "underground crimelords". anyone got names? physical descriptions? rumors? weird bits of tmi no one ever wanted to hear?
3. four shadiest bars/"gathering locations". you know exactly what i mean
4. narcotics. heard a lot of whispers about high death rates. anyone tested substances for an idea of what's in them? what bits of brain they effect? what's causing those deaths, or is it the standard respiratory issues?

5. where the hell did all the dogs go?

They're disruptive when you've got an ongoing investigation you don't need help with.

What do you do back home, Matches?

I have a feeling you won't be telling me yours, but I'm open to sharing my own experiences.

CyberLife assigned me casework with the local law enforcement in Detroit, Michigan. I was ordered to investigate instances of deviant androids and the root cause of those deviations, track them down, and bring them back for questioning.

(—reprogramming, decommissioning, whatever cyberlife decided was the best bang for their buck.)

All you had to do was say "no". Lying wasn't necessary.

It's a case of an android gaining self-awareness and breaking their programming. Deviants are alive, as free-thinking and individualistic as any human.

Oh, certainly not. I'm sure the omission of fact counts, but I won't press you any further.

Yes, essentially. I'm not proud of the things I've done. It's in the past, but I hope to make up for that. That'd be my choice, at least.
cyberlife: i'll be back. (Default)

Thank you for telling me, you must be very strong if someone called on you to keep them safe. That's a very strange line of work I'd like to know how you got into, though you only get so lucky during the course of a day.🙂

Let's leave it for another time. Maybe when we get to know one another better.

(like... planning out their friendship in his head. matches and connor take new amsterdam.)

In the meantime, I'd like to volunteer to help out if you end up going to check on any of these shady places.

(tabling that discussion for later, because LEVEL 4 IS A SURPRISINGLY DOABLE NUMBER??????)

Yes, I have extensive "training" (programming) and I'm designed to integrate well with humans. It shouldn't be a problem.

I have absolutely no idea how I've gained the muscle memory, but yes - remembering it and applying it has stayed the same as it's always been. If you'd like to test my mettle then I'd be happy to oblige, I typically work weekdays 9 to 5.

(like a real human bean)

Will I find you at the safe house or have you found an alternate living situation?
cyberlife: no sign of brain trauma. (pic#12506780)

I'll do that, then.

In the meantime, if you happen to get a foothold in your investigations would you let me know?
cyberlife: i'm not authorized to answer your questions. (pic#12506758)

Oh.

How is it working out for you?

(this sounds like, so combative but he's asking in such a genuine tone in his head........)
cyberlife: no, i am not shitting you. (pic#12506762)

Not particularly, no... no offence.

Admittedly not very, but I'm getting better at it every day.
