I have no doubt that there are selfish humans. But all youkai are selfish. We have nothing but selfishness. I spent over a century just killing for entertainment because it's my nature as a wild fox, and I needed nothing else to satisfy me.

My blood is red. Aside from my ears and tail, I can pass as a human visually just fine. If I'm supposed to live amongst them, however, I'm certain that looks alone won't suffice.
