So I know I can't be the only one who's had the unexpected pleasure of coming into possession of messages that aren't intended for my consumption. I'm not talking about you getting someone's private love letters or metaphorical cat video links, which I've gotten and deleted.

If I were back home, I'd be sliding this info to my nearest and dearest investigative journalist type. Since I'm not, well, I guess I've got to take matters in my own hands.

It's an interesting read, so, I'm just going to include the unedited details for all.

But this world eliminated all AI, right? So I guess someone decided the next option was to make humans behave like machines for them.

There are no more countries here, right? It's just the UNA. They're making people behave like machines, but to fight against what?

I'm not completely brushed up on this world's history, but it doesn't seem like there's been a full-blown war in years.

It could be about total control. Morningstar is a rebel group operating outside of the law. The UNA may just want to be ready to crush that dissent wherever it crops up. They did a raid on Morningstar some months ago.

It sounds suspicious.
Total control means someone is in that position.

Not just who it is, but how they got there, and what they're going to do next.

There's a lot of digging that needs to be done assuming we make it through this before dying of heat exposure.

Proving once again that you can't just get rid of AI. Who knows what kind of programs they're running through everyone's implants?

It could be a lot more subtle than people are assuming. Small influences in decisions they make, buying habits...

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Even if they haven't done it yet, the fact that the tech exists means there's a non-zero chance of them using it on the general public if they need to.
