@peter.benjamin

So I know I can't be the only one who's had the unexpected pleasure of coming into possession of messages that aren't intended for my consumption. I'm not talking about you getting someone's private love letters or metaphorical cat video links, which I've gotten and deleted.

If I were back home, I'd be sliding this info to my nearest and dearest investigative journalist type. Since I'm not, well, I guess I've got to take matters in my own hands.

It's an interesting read, so, I'm just going to include the unedited details for all.

[what follows is a copy of the message that peter had received earlier, sent from lydia gill-jade, which seems the sort of thing that would come up in a current headlines search if it weren't presumably a secret. well, so much for that, huh?]

Maybe it's just me, but do people usually name successors for campaign donations?

Well, yeah. Why wouldn't they? If somebody hasn't tried yet, it's only a matter of time until they do, and it doesn't have to be to the degree they use on the soldiers.

You act like there's only two settings on this thing--full control, or none.

Has it occurred to you that the issue lies with making up your mind before having the evidence to support it?

Your memo refers to hardware failure. I don't believe it sounds like anything intentional, or else it wouldn't have been seen as a known issue.

But instead of overlooking that, you only think of yourself and your predisposition toward all of this.

So do you like having government hardware in your brain or what
impede: (like the fate of the world.)

Perhaps I prefer to feel that I'm in control of my life and choices.

They did take care to drug us to make us compliant at the very start. If anyone could just control us, why do that at all?

I know you'll suggest that it's a misdirection, but wouldn't you agree that that's a leap?

There's like a million possible reasons. Maybe there's an adjustment period once the implants are installed so they can't run certain software through them right away. So, drugs.

Or

hear me out

they have multiple methods of control and they use different ones for different situations.

We have abilities that no one else has in this world, and you believe they would just run the risk of freeing us so that we can be deluded into believing that the implant in our head isn't controlling us.

That's not to say that it's the most convoluted plan I've ever seen.

But pure reason does little to back it up.

Look, I'm just sharing with the class. You can do what you want with the information, including ignore it, you weirdo apologist.

I'm simply examining the evidence that you put forth.

I am sorry, however, that you can't be as clearheaded regarding it because it doesn't suit your purposes.

I guess I just don't see the harm in preparing for the possibility of compromised implants, whether the UNA does it or not.

Unless, again, you like having government hardware in your brain or whatever.

You're very absolute in your thinking, aren't you?
