So I know I can't be the only one who's had the unexpected pleasure of coming into possession of messages that aren't intended for my consumption. I'm not talking about you getting someone's private love letters or metaphorical cat video links, which I've gotten and deleted.

If I were back home, I'd be sliding this info to my nearest and dearest investigative journalist type. Since I'm not, well, I guess I've got to take matters in my own hands.

It's an interesting read, so, I'm just going to include the unedited details for all.

[what follows is a copy of the message that peter had received earlier, sent from lydia gill-jade, which seems the sort of thing that would come up in a current headlines search if it weren't presumably a secret. well, so much for that, huh?]

Maybe it's just me, but do people usually name successors for campaign donations?

It'll be slow work, but we could scour lists of politicians. Once the networks are proving to be hardy again.

if it were a politician we could find with a long search, they wouldn't need to hide behind initials though, right? maybe it's someone seedier, like a futuristic mafia. or it stands for an alias.

Then we need to determine if he refers to himself that way or if the contents of it were altered for our consumption.

it'd be easier if we can find any other messages that use the same 'name.' the other person showed up elsewhere, so maybe this person will too.

He could very easily be one of the redacted names.

do you think these specific messages were chosen on purpose? or that they were random?

I think there is just as much of a chance as them being linked as there being no chance. They aren't easy means to shed bad light on someone's name. Even knowing about the ... intention to back a new political candidate doesn't change much. That's commonplace, even in my world.

I do think it's possible that they were meant to be of interest to us. That part is certainly intentional. Even the control with which they sent them. Shouldn't it have been more difficult for us to receive them at all?

And yet, many of our number did get them. Many of them are related to our involvement here. Maybe the link in all of this is us in some way. Not behind the mysteries of being here, but for our eyes as objective observers.

Though I'm sorry to say that without the usual resources at my disposal, all I'm left with are my deductions. Logic can take me far, but I'm still lacking.

i don't think the mystery is going anywhere at least. even if a trail goes cold, there's always another way.
