@marcos.diaz

[ marcos hadn't really expected to be back on this network so soon but he'd said he'd do something and while it was a little later than expected, he was going to follow through with that. ]

Not too long ago, I was here with questions about a different version of me being here before. Seems like there's a few people that's happened to now so our club's growing. I'm not here for that today.

During that conversation, I told someone that I'd ask a question to all the Displaced because she was curious and honestly, I am too.

Question is why do you stick around? Why haven't more of you 'fucked off into oblivion' to quote the last conversation I had about this? Is it because there's nowhere else better to go? Or something else?

[ it'd be interesting to see if there was genuine thought in some of the answers, if people didn't know there was anywhere else to go, or just didn't want to make the effort. ]

To be clear, I'm not advocating one way or another. Just posing the question.

[ OOC: this isn't an official mod requested communication and isn't part of some bigger plot. it's just curiosity born of a conversation marcos had with gaby here that he said he'd ask about so he's asking. feel free to talk to each other, of course, and i'll answer as i can. ]

"Why they did it" seems obvious. I know what I can do. If I were them, I would not let me run rampant with the capacity to destabilize the entire techno-ecosystem.

[ Also, there's the mind control saliva. And the super-strength. ]

What I do not understand is why they gave anything in return.

[ Or how they could be stupid enough to think that merely nerfing him would be enough to stop him. If they did. If they're that stupid. There's a lot of un-answered questions here. ]

Not necessarily. At least, I do not see that being required to "figure out" some of us. I know for a fact that cursory routine medical examinations run on me would probably uncover abnormalities very quickly. The sort that tends to worry authorities.

[ He's making it sound really weird, and dangerous, and that's half because he's just Weird Like That and half because it's 100% true. But he has internal organs human beings aren't supposed to have. And cockroach DNA. ]

Meddling because they could, maybe? To see what would happen? It isn't unheard of.

They will see something to warrant further investigation. Like a lack of a discernible human blood type.

[ Surely 500 years in the future they will pick up all the nanotech seeded in his bodily fluids and tissues as well? But perhaps he's afforded them too much credit. Maybe they're not that good. They're only human, after all. ]

Wouldn't Morningstar know if there had been?

I don't know them well enough to know what they would or wouldn't do with such intelligence. Or what they would gain by choosing to conceal versus reveal.
