Not too long ago, I was here with questions about a different version of me being here before. Seems like there's a few people that's happened to now so our club's growing. I'm not here for that today.

During that conversation, I told someone that I'd ask a question to all the Displaced because she was curious and honestly, I am too.

Question is why do you stick around? Why haven't more of you 'fucked off into oblivion' to quote the last conversation I had about this? Is it because there's nowhere else better to go? Or something else?

[ it'd be interesting to see if there was genuine thought in some of the answers, if people didn't know there was anywhere else to go, or just didn't want to make the effort. ]

To be clear, I'm not advocating one way or another. Just posing the question.

there's a couple of people like that, sure
but getting to know others has shown me that most everyone is trustworthy

especially since we're all working for a common goal in the end

Yeah, let's hope. I haven't run into anyone yet that wants something as extreme as death to happen so I think we can agree on that one.

though thinking about it, leaving this place and all the people i've met and the life i've gotten to put together would be pretty hard

That's understandable. I don't know if I've been here long enough to form attachments that deep but there are people here that I care about. And while my personal wish is to go back, it wouldn't be all that easy to just go.

but... home is home, right? no matter what, this place will never be like it

i come from a place that isn't earth so it's pretty different in some aspects
some of us have to get back urgently

it'd be ideal if we could all return at the same time to our own worlds

Home is home but home's not always a place people want to go back to. What if they're safer here? What if there's less danger?

I need to get back home too but I can't begrudge those that don't want to go. It's their choice.

we're in one of those positions where it's hard to not get attached but we're torn over what we already know we have

And I doubt that when the way home is inevitably found, it will be all that easy to come back either. Seems like a one way trip.
