@marcos.diaz
[ marcos hadn't really expected to be back on this network so soon but he'd said he'd do something and while it was a little later than expected, he was going to follow through with that. ]
Not too long ago, I was here with questions about a different version of me being here before. Seems like there's a few people that's happened to now so our club's growing. I'm not here for that today.
During that conversation, I told someone that I'd ask a question to all the Displaced because she was curious and honestly, I am too.
Question is why do you stick around? Why haven't more of you 'fucked off into oblivion' to quote the last conversation I had about this? Is it because there's nowhere else better to go? Or something else?
[ it'd be interesting to see if there was genuine thought in some of the answers, if people didn't know there was anywhere else to go, or just didn't want to make the effort. ]
To be clear, I'm not advocating one way or another. Just posing the question.
[ OOC: this isn't an official mod requested communication and isn't part of some bigger plot. it's just curiosity born of a conversation marcos had with gaby here that he said he'd ask about so he's asking. feel free to talk to each other, of course, and i'll answer as i can. ]

But we should all be aware that our lives are never going to be settled down and comfortable until we know for sure that we're not going to vanish tomorrow.
no subject
That they'll vanish and just do the live their life part.
You don't think you could ever get there?

but the constant, pressing fear brought on by marcos himself's disappearance, by finn and poe's, by tony stark's, is with her in those treasured moments with the people she cares for. she can never forget that it could all be stolen away. and until it can't be, her answer is clear. she cannot forget. ]
No.

What are you going to think of others that think differently?
That want to stay for whatever reason.

I'd hope that anyone who wanted to stay would be worried.
Not that there's anything they can do to stop that from happening.
But in that instance, I think their end goal would become less about answers and more about making their time count.

[ rey doesn't know how to sit idle stop calling her out like this!!! ]

Could but there's no guarantee.
Would you want to waste time for no guarantee?
Time that could be spent with someone you care about?

Because if there's no certainty either way, then I choose hope.

I'm like you. I want to find answers.
But I've been around people that just want to live, both here and back where I'm from.
I can't tell them that's wrong.
no subject
We all deserve better than that.

Look, you don't have to convince me. I get where you're coming from but I think there's people out there that are going to disagree.

I know of one person already who thinks this place is better than where they came from.
So maybe they're hope is staying right here.

[ gently throttles. ]
I'm not saying it couldn't be better than where they come from. I'm saying that they might wind up right back where they came from if we don't find answers. People disappear all the time just like you did, and they don't all come back, Marcos.
If people really want to stay here instead of returning, they'll be invested in answers too. It's certainty.
no subject
[ that's all he's been doing. ]
I think that's presumptuous, saying something's a certainty in any kind of life. There's no way to know that but I think we're going to talk ourselves in circles. You have our opinion, I have mine. Nothing wrong with that.
