@gaby
[ this was supposed to be one of Gaby's days off. in fact, she's not in the safehouse when the message comes in. ]
Turns out that we're missing two new faces around the safehouse.
I'd play a guessing game as to why I wasn't told, but I don't care. These two faces apparently murdered two people that night.
I don't know who they are, but I do know that they're locked up. Any guesses as to what's going to happen to them?
Genuine question. Because I don't know.
Oh, and because some of you think you can do whatever the hell you want around here: don't think the way out for them is a jail break. Don't even fucking try it. And no, Morningstar isn't in the business of breaking people out of jail, because that would be stupid.
[ she's a little angry. no. a lot. but mostly she doesn't know how to handle this one. ]
Look. You know something? Tell me. You won't be "in trouble."

First of all, people died. More specifically, people were killed. Generally people are arrested for that, this isn't a new world exclusive. Crime and punishment is a fairly universal concept and we don't have the resources to be above the law.
"Save". I don't know where you come from, but typically jailbreak isn't the way we keep an innocent person from prison. If it turns out this was the doing of the drug and not their own intention, snatching them out from under the law is only going to serve to bring more attention to the rest of us and condemn them further.
This will be handled in the best way it can be. But barreling in there to stage a misguided 'rescue' isn't that.
As for the people crying murder, I agree. Not a good introduction. But you haven't been here quite long enough to understand the risks at play. They're just responding according to their best understanding of how to keep everyone safe. They're also over-ruled.

Only that it's disquieting to see this kind of discord erupt within a group that I'm now forcibly associated with. Assume that we strictly blame the drug; what ways do we go about rescuing an innocent person from prison, in this world? Or rather, tell me what this "best way" is, when no one here can seem to decide that for themselves.
Not that it matters if we're all to be overruled, though, as you say. Perhaps you should tell everyone that these discussions will only amount to a waste of time.

Pardon me on the rescue point. But when what you took from an unfinished collection of inconclusive discussions was that we've decided they're not worth the time or the risk to be saved, I assumed you'd reached that conclusion based on the lack of immediate action.
Most obvious answer would be through the legal system. Granted, that's not always reliable, but it's an option, and in my opinion a better one than trying to smuggle two anomalies out from under the nose of local law enforcement. As for the best way, I don't know yet. That's why we're all talking.
The overruling is limited strictly to people who think murder is a suitable solution. If you think that's worth griping over, more power to you.

And another question, if you will. What sentence can a pair of “anomalies” expect for committing murder?

I imagine it's still a consideration, but we also have to take into account the exposure any kind of breakout would result in. Especially if powers are involved. There's really no hiding that something greater's at play if an apparently impossible rescue is staged and that's too great a risk to undertake without significant prior planning. Both for the sake of the two being held were the attempt to be unsuccessful, and for the sake of the rest of us if it were successful or not.
If you need bringing up to speed on where we stand in this world, I can pay a visit to the safehouse later on.
As to the sentence, I don't know. I don't think any of us do.

[Innately clever, quick to learn — the only reason why Alucard even knows how to use the network at all. And even then, so much escapes him.]
It would be appreciated, though you’re under no obligation to visit.
At any rate, I may be new, but I refuse to delegate myself to the being idle. My powers are… dormant, it would seem, but certain physical attributes remain. I’m certain I can be of some use, if it comes down to it.

I've got a couple of things to do at the safehouse anyway. If you're happy to wait until I'm finished, I'll swing by and we can continue this in person while I do my best to fill you in.

[Peak sarcasm, directed more at his circumstances than Stephen himself.]
I’ll be here. My name is Alucard. I’m the one with blond hair and a generally confused look about me.

Great. Stephen Strange, I'm the one with with exhausted hair and the semi-permanent scowl. Don't take it personally.
I'll see you later.

Sorry to hear about your hair.
But thank you. Until then.
