It's a neural implant. A computer in your head. Someone surgically implanted it there. I can't explain more because I'm not a wetware surgeon. But if you can tell me as much as you know about how you got here, I might be able to get a better picture of who did it to you.

I have memory of approximately the last hour, possibly less, I have no idea how long I've been awake. If it's worth anything to you you're welcome to it.

We were inside a vehicle. Strapped in, doped up with something. Black-armoured guards, a man carrying the meds. Other staff there for that same purpose I think. I don't know. There was a crash. Those of us who could get out did, straight into a skirmish. Once the fighting was done, we followed a man - your friend, I assume - back here. Last I saw him he was bleeding quite heavily, you should do something about that.

So you don't remember anything more about the vehicle? The other staff? No logos or names?

No. No logos. No names. If a vehicle full of abductees driving through the streets only to be attacked by a bigger, angrier vehicle isn't enough of a hint for you it begs the question why you feel the need to have this place running to begin with.

You must have some list of who you're all hiding from. And if the crash wasn't you, I'm guessing there are at least two names on that list.

And what the hell is a medi-unit.

It's a big machine that handles bad injuries or illnesses. Please don't ask me how it works. You might be a doctor, but I'm not.

The crash was us. But it was meant to be hitting a weapons transport, and instead we got you. You were just lucky there was a safehouse nearby.

I'm sure we're all very grateful. Where were the weapons going? Where did your intel come from on the transport?

[ too many questions. the chances of him getting the answers he's looking for as a completely unvetted stranger are slim, he knows it, but there's a lot left to learn and he doesn't have the time not to try. ]

OK seriously? Even if I had access to that information, you just walked in off the street. You could all be really weird UNA plants for all we know.

I don't know who did it. From what you've all told me I'm guessing private, not government, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be involved somehow.

Word to the wise, you don't need to tell us to avoid people in black armor. As you've probably also gathered from what we've all told you, we've already got that instinct.

Was it a government vehicle you thought you'd be intercepting? I know, could be a plant. As soon as you've figured out whether or not you can trust me with information pertaining to my abduction, I'd appreciate it if you could get back in touch.

None of you have described seeing UNA armor, trust me.

I said I don't have access to that information, not just that I wouldn't give it to you. I wasn't on that job. I only know who was, and when and where it was meant to happen.

[ breathe, Stephen. you're getting more than you're owed here, and you won't get anything else if you're an asshole to your only current source of information. ]

Do you have avenues to find out?

[mrngstr]

More like I have bosses and the people who did the job have bosses and somewhere along the line those bosses might have the same boss or be the same people. But it'll be up to them if I get the information. We have to keep things separated for safety.

That's sounds like an avenue to me. I'd suggest telling your seniors it's high-priority information. Who or whatever is capable of doing this is a threat to more than just us.

I seriously don't think I'm going to need to spell anything like that out to them.

[ he's about to insist, elaborate - doesn't. it's too early to tell the nature of the void in himself, too early to give anything concrete. too soon to surrender information like that regardless. ]
