My name is Hafid al Ghul.

For those of you who are new here, I will do my best to bring you up to speed with the current situation. You have been kidnapped, modified both technologically and perhaps genetically, and left stranded in an alternate future. There may be people from your world or worlds adjacent to yours here. I recommend you brush up on multiverse theory to save everyone the effort of explaining it.

You've been given new abilities. They may mirror the ones you had before if you had them before or they may be entirely alien. I can offer a space in which to refine these abilities. In addition to that, if you touch another displaced person you'll trigger an empathy bond. Using your abilities and activating this will also trigger a glow in your chest - we do not know the origin of this glow yet. If there is additional hardware in your chest, it's below or in the bone.

While your power mastery is up to you, I can teach combat. I'm looking for any additional instructors willing to put in the time to ensure all among us have a basic grasp of self-defense. Date for first lesson is still pending, let me know if interested. Expect to work. I will not be babying you. Do not expect other people to carry your weight for you.

Project onto. I suppose that's not so very different from being likened to.

[Not that he has any particular feelings about 'real' dogs. But having a dog-entity lodged in your Spine and having being told you're a 'dog' your whole life means they end up on your mind rather a lot, hahah.]

That much is clear enough. No one seems to know what's what. As for my investigative abilities, we shall see I suppose.

[I mean he's done his fair share of hunting things down, sniffing things out. Who knows, perhaps it's a transferable skill.]

I'd rather have retained my old ones. Alas. How does one go about discovering these new abilities, anyway?

A show of strong emotion seems to be the trigger for the first display.

And if you were a meta beforehand then don't try to access your old power set. It seems some limiter has been placed on any old abilities.

That much I've already discerned. Though 'meta' isn't a term I'm familiar with.

A creature, usually human or humanoid, with abilities beyond that of a baseline human.

I see. And does it matter how they came to possess these abilities to begin with?

No. It's a catch-all. Some are born with them, others get them through experiments.

I see. Then I suppose I fall into that category.

To me, I suppose you would say. Though it's been this way from the very beginning.

What were your abilities?

[ofobedience]

Autonomic regeneration, including limb regrowth and regeneration of brain tissue. Immunity to all poisons and pathogens. Enhanced speed, strength, agility, and stamina. I don't require food in order to live.

Some remnant of my strength and healing abilities remain, but they're greatly reduced. I've yet to test the limits of it.

Damian hesitates a beat longer, then transitions this to private. That's something he shouldn't have asked in the open to begin with - he wasn't expecting a frank answer. ]

That's correct. A hound of war, if you will. Created specifically for destruction.
