Hey again! I woke up feeling like crap and found my sword sitting on my chest. Which is weird, because I've been wanting it. I know I'm not the first person this has happened to. It's worth figuring out if there's any kind of pattern to it, so can everyone who's had it happen answer this?

I'm really hoping wish-granting is what's going on here, because there is some stuff from home I would seriously like to have right now.

did your chest hurt at all?

I think the wishing theory is out.
Too bad.
But that leaves the field wide open for how it chooses stuff, or how it even knows what belongs to us.

I wonder why it hurts for this but not any of the other stuff that is obviously related to the blue junk. Maybe items take more energy.

i can think of a few other times that i've had a similar sensation, but never during anything with the empathetic abilities it gives us

Dealing with the plague hurt, too but for me at least it didn't feel the same. More burning, and it wasn't in my chest.

That would explain how I missed it.
So the question is what does that have in common with things popping out of our chest.

Whatever we're calling it. It does a lot of stuff besides being a portal, so we should pick something that isn't going to skew the way we think about it to just one of its functions.

I don't see anything wrong with 'blue junk'.
There's not really a neat existing term for "nonphysical blue glow in your chest that gives you powers and makes you feel other peoples feelings and also randomly fetches your personal items." We can't even get cute and call it heart or something like, since it just translates.

[they used the Japanese for heart which Loki might be able to SEE but obviously it just translates.]

Regardless of the eclectic mix of potpourri that the blow glowy thingie provides, it's still crossing barriers, whether they be local or multiversal. The new abilities could be manifesting from the same source, depending.
If you'd like, we can call it a Rabbit Hole, though this is hardly Wonderland.
