hello and welcome to today's installment of THERE'S SOMETHING FUCKED IN THE STATE OF NEW AMSTERDAM. i'm your host, @daisy.johnson, and today i'm bringing you a selection of hot takes from that super fun weekend of fire and brimstone we all had a while back.

#1: there's something super gross in your blood. or there was. if you remember @kylo.ren's hot goss about the hybrid death monsters a while back... well, fun fact: they were in you. some of you, anyway.

#2: anybody who enjoyed a little hands-on exorcism also got the bonus gift of a shit ton of white blood cells being pulled off the bench to play defense. talk about one hell of a summer cold. but the monster goop in the blood? totally gone.

now i don't know about you, but i have never had a cold that made me want to straight up murder a dude for cutting in line before, so this is raising some serious scooby and the gang mysteries on my end.

questions/thoughts:

a. how many of us went into the burning building? i can vouch for @marcos.diaz's strong dad vibes, but i didn't see anyone else.

b. how many of us were on futuristic pcp for a day? i was, but my roommates weren't. wondering if a is connected to b.

c. how bad was your hangover? not totally related, just want to know if i was the only one super craving a mcdouble and a bloody mary the next day.

Did anyone notice the alert to dispose of any carcasses that people may have had from the attack? It was put out with the NACDC.

My thoughts? The people in charge here have figured out exactly what we did. And at the same rate, just about. Even with less resources, we're doing quite well.

For the sake of the public record, I should state that I didn't go into the burning building and remained unaffected throughout the outbreak.

could be an immune system disorder
bone marrow diseases
could also be a reaction to a drug that stimulates high white blood cell count
or just allergies
how many people had their blood tested post exorcism?

three, as far as i know
of those, one sample came back inconclusive, one with an upsurge in white blood cells, one with the monster dna

the person who gave the sample with the raised white blood cell count had their blood tested at an earlier stage
no allergies, bone marrow diseases or immune system disorders at that point

infection or a drug are the most likely explanation, but we can't exclude the possibility of fast acting variants of the other options

so they all came back with different results
isn't that inconclusive in itself?
how can you be certain any one thing is connected to our blood when everyone who was tested came back different?

i'll be the first to admit that a sample size of one isn't great
but the sample that came back with the monster dna is the one taken before the person was cured
the other two are from cured individuals
and the one that came back inconclusive was dried blood, so i'm not surprised

should probably ask everyone to sign a waiver
'if infected with weird shit help yourselves to my blood for further examination'
test them all
