[Part of the focus of this post is to begin Operation: Help Stephen. Or whatever it's best called. Either way, Clarke's worried about him, as well as worried about their ability to help what has inevitably become a community they feel they can help. That's not just the Displaced, but the people of New Amsterdam. It's a lot.
She's also trying to be gentler in her own execution. It's hard, because the way she carries herself doesn't fully comply with that. But she also thinks of it as the next phase of the Do Better campaign.
That said, she is a little wary about how her bouncer-turned-security force idea will be taken. But the only way it can be improved is if she talks about it outside of the shadows. So. Here she goes.]
Hi everyone. I'm one of the two owners of Red Wings, and I'd like to offer you a place to work while you're getting settled in. It doesn't need to be permanent, but Red Wings was started as a place to help the Displaced become more financially independent before setting out into the world. We'd like to keep it that way.
First, I'd like to link the Starter Guide. If you've been here for a while, make sure to sign up at the bottom if you'd like to be a contact for anything.
Lance also put together a compendium of information. Don't go dig into that until you're ready. It's a lot.
As for Red Wings positions:
IN HOUSE: We're looking for another shift manager, as well as additional chefs and bartenders. After the Aerie, I'm also interested in hosting community events where we can rehabilitate our image. We don't need the fame that we had before the Aerie, but Stephen and I do intend to keep Red Wings as a community center. If you're interested in helping out with that, even on a contractor basis, let us know.
SECURITY/SECURITY FORCE: I've pitched this to a few people, but the Displaced need to watch out for themselves. Even before the Aerie and this recent Task Force, some of us brought heat down on ourselves and each other. That's going to happen, especially because a lot of us aren't happy with the makeup of this world.
So, I'd like our bouncers and security to work as eyes for our group. My aim isn't to control this group. We just need someone out there looking out for us. Lexa and Castiel have already started to devise exit points from the city if the worst case scenario comes to a head, but in the meantime, I thought that having some extra support here would help. Paying the people for their support is the next natural solution.
With everything that's happened, I've only been able to pitch this, like I said. How it's executed, how it goes about its business—that would be up to the people involved. We have a lot of people who have the skills necessary to pull this off. I'd just like to pay people to do what feels best for them.
Between the jobs and the guides, I'm willing to answer any questions you might have.
[OOC: As a reminder! If your character is employed by Red Wings in any capacity, make sure to sign up at our bar post in addition to the jobs post.]

But what do I know?
[It might be unsustainable, but Clarke doesn't handle the books for a reason. She just gave her reason.
Money is stupid.]

Any ideas on the community celebrations? Or do you keep all your creativity to your curry names?

[ though ]
Cooking or cocktail classes might help.
What other skills do we have that we can help with?
no subject
Do you think people would show up for that?
[Clarke genuinely does not know what people will sign up for, to be fair.]

also, the information doc alludes to it, but does anyone know how time works back home? i've never heard of jumping between universes. i want to know if my friends and family are going to notice if i'm gone.
[ and his job. he'd like to not get fired, but that's a secondary concern. ]

[She doesn't recognize his name. And that, plus his question, seems to be a big giveaway on that.]
My best guess is they don't know. Someone here turned up from my world and my future, but he had no idea that I'd gone missing. But someone else pointed out that it could be a matter of parallel universes.
The whole thing is a bit over my head.

[ Mostly because he doesn't trust the sound of it at all, but he's not trying to jump down anyone's throat. ]
But I have another job, and I'm not exactly intimidating as a bouncer.
[ Not without baring his fangs, which might cause a different sort of issues. He's not looking to get hired, just to have some kind of say in it, and if it's worthwhile, then to spend some time doing something worthwhile. ]

We could put you down as someone who does maintenance. There's no real way to check into whether that's true or not, and it would still be helping you out while you help the rest of us.

It's not the pay that's important to me. I'm used to doing things, maybe protecting people a little.

I know it doesn't sound like much given the circumstances, but it's what Red Wings is built upon. And it's how we handled things back home when there was only a group around this size. We have to trust in what someone says they can do, and to look out for the good of everyone in our group, for better or worse.
@stephen.strange
[ Tongue in cheek, but not a joke. With these ideas and every other that might follow, the future is looking brighter. ]
Ren's proposed cocktail classes would go down well too. If they don't knock out half the attendees. Or maybe that would be a selling point.
