Anyone here choose to not use the ability they were given for whatever reason? Or is it sometimes impossible to avoid using it?

I haven't figured out what mine is yet but I thought I'd just check in to see if they're easily controlled when you have figured them out or if they just pop off without preamble. Might be a little bit of a mood killer in certain situations if that were to happen.

Can you turn them off even if you can't actually turn them off?

Honestly, I'm surprised I haven't heard anything about infighting. That's impressive.

Admittedly it seems a lot tamer than it used to be. There has been nothing major as of late, outside the Riverstone experiments.

[scythias]

Yeah, I was here for those. I'd just gotten here. Didn't even get near that thing.

( she's seen her friends experimented on and she is not going to let that happen again. )

Smart. I have been looking into Riverstone for quite some time, and they are not trustworthy in the slightest. Whether or not any of us are harmed in this experience, Riverstone is not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.

Sounds familiar. You think they want to know how we were given some of the things we have so they can take them too?

[evasives]

Yes, or something close enough. We are not under their thumb, I suspect they want to either use us or figure out how we work to repeat it for themselves.

But I know I am biased against these corporations.

You and me both.

I've found that, most of the time, no matter's what said or promised, they don't have anyone's best interest at heart.

[evasives]

I cannot say I have ever found anything different myself.

It's unfortunate, isn't it? That's that how it is all over the place.

Such is the nature of these companies. I would rather assume they are all the same and be surprised when they're not than trust them to start.

[scythias]

It's just unfortunate when none of them surprise you. When you just know that it'll be bad.

[evasives]

On the fortunate side of things, I do think there is always room to work against them. And if you are never surprised, you are always prepared.

I think I'm too old to not be prepared and I wasn't even a Boy Scout.

[evasives]

Is Boy Scout an Earth thing?

[scythias]

Yeah. It's their motto. Always be prepared. They're like a group who do wilderness things together.

[evasives]

With the way these cities are walled up on this planet, no wonder it seems to have disappeared, unless New Amsterdam has come up with its own urban version.

[scythias]

It wouldn't surprise me. Places and people adapt to their surroundings. It's one of humanity's best traits.

[evasives]

We would not have made it very far without that ability.
