Most likely. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of branding in our skulls to distinguish us.

Why were you requesting our criminal history?

That isn't how I'd word it.

If there was a common crime then they could be targeting some specific trait.

Protesting is a crime in some worlds. AS is vigilantism.

Oh, trust me. I know all different sorts of crimes that can be used against someone.

So ... you think they may be looking for a defiant tendency. I'm assuming from those examples, anyway.

Yes.
People who might have a problem sitting still if someone is in trouble, or keeping quiet when things are wrong.

Well, I think you should have been more direct.

I'm not sure everyone here applies, at least from who I've met. I could be wrong.

[Murphy can apply, but is debatable. He's not altruistic. He is outspoken, defiant, and more, but knows how to play his cards to survive. Clarke doesn't think he fits, which isn't a bad thing. It's just a complication to the theory itself.

She won't make the mistake of naming her friend, though.]

For all we know there is no common thread linking any of us and this is futile.
Don't know unless we make the point to ask.

Hence the suggestion to be more direct. We can't determine a link if we're vague. Some people will be cagey, but we all have similar goals.

I don't know how much more direct to be.
If I'm too direct people will just whine about tact.

How about presenting it as a theory? If you bypass information and skip ahead, you'll at least find situations that contradict it quickly.

Doesn't mean you have to be married to it.
