[ it's been a difficult few weeks, and it feels almost like everyone's still trying to hold themselves together. there's a quiet hush over the unrest, which means that it's absolutely time to get some shit together. ]

Oh, hello.
Just a few thoughts that I've put together, I suppose- prior to my arrival here I had a rather good sense of the goings-on within the very fabric of reality. While I certainly can't indulge myself in such feats since I got here, I can say with confidence that the multiverse loves patterns. Something that's simple to predict. For instance, there are some of us here that seem to mirror a similar set of circumstances with one another while still coming from different universes. (See: Tony Stark and Stephen Strange.)
With that in mind, I thought that there simply must be something similar that links us all together in a thread of commonality.

I am in no way going to complain. If we all have to stare at each other a great deal in this place, we might as well like what we see.

Before I came here I was existing around I'd say 90% average-looking folks, and that's fine, we're from old times, we don't have a whole lot of easy bathing if I'm being honest it's iffy at times, but still. It's an upgrade in that department.

It wouldn't make sense in earth years because I'm not from here. It's the 9th age, the age of the dragon. We fight with swords and armor, have wooden ships and not air ships, not what one would call indoor plumbing, and I've been told that would come across as 'medieval' in earth terms. It's been quite the learning curve.

Ah- yes, what do they call culture shock when you're from a different time-ish period?
Interdimensional temporal shock?

Alas, tell me, how are the wonders of hygiene in this modern world?

They are fantastic! I think my first shower took several hours because I was just so delighted at the concept of them. I've never been this clean in my life. It would've really come in handy all those times I came back covered in blood. You have no idea how many clothes I've ruined at this point.

Alas, all you need is a good shower and a dry cleaner and you'd have spared the fate of so many fabrics.

I think I spent at least a good portion of my mercenary earnings on buying new clothes. My mother despaired. I do miss my armor though. I feel quite naked without it.
