@scott.mccall
So, I never wrote or kept like a blog and I know that's not what this is for, but it's kind of what this reminds me of.
Anyway. I'm Scott. McCall. My friend Isaac and I, we're new. Not as new as everyone new here, but still new, and we need jobs.
I worked as a veterinary assistant for four years and inside the simulation I was an unqualified medic. I don't... know what's out there, for us. And, I hope maybe that this is easier than looking ourselves.
Isaac worked in a graveyard. He dug graves. But, he's really smart and, sort of sarcastic but he can really make you smile.
Anyway, we're just out of high school and we each had two jobs between us. But, we're quick learners.
Also, any downtime you have, let us know if anything needs to be done in the safe house. I know like a month ago there were things that were going to be built or improved or something. We could help with that.
Oh. One more question. Does anyone have like an iPod or something. I really miss music.
Thanks to anyone that can help or even replies.

@riku.masterson
As for the helping out part—we could still use the assist with the Welcoming Committee. I still haven't found someone to head those efforts.

I also helped homeless and runaway kids. That was after high school. But, I welcomed them too, if they were brought in. I could welcome people. What would welcoming people need? I've never been the head of a committee.
no subject
Well, mostly ... getting them a meal. Helping find them some nicer clothes, and getting the clothes stocked. Morningstar helps with some of the basics, but if you want them to be even more comfortable, that's where we come in.
I'm good for carrying things in and welcoming a new person or two, but it definitely sounds like you're better at that. Especially if they're runaways. Does that mean you had to help them calm down and feel better about where they were going? Because ... let me tell you. A lot of people like to fight the door hatch here. It's a losing battle.
no subject
I'd like to think if they escape back through the hatch, they'd learn why they shouldn't. Without ID we don't get far. I didn't need the sim to teach me that. But, I'm good at calming people down. The first three days aren't easy, especially when we have nowhere else to go, but the alternative?
Yeah. I want to do it. Is there something official? Am I just ... it now?
no subject
So, uh.
Glad to have you on board.

@jack.miller
Didn't realize you were that new. You get through the rest of the sim stuff in one piece?
no subject
Yeah. I didn't go on any of the suicide missions.
( He knows he could've done more, but he's not sure what that would've been. Strong personalities who knows more than him were around. He's still wrapping his head around everything. )
I'm not that new? We have new people now, but I'm from the group before them. We were left at the war memorial. The one that basically detailed what was going to happen in the simulation. Foreshadowing. Thank you again for your help.

[ Jack doesn't think that the people who'd thrown themselves at the drones and gotten captured had accomplished much, but who knows? ]
That's still pretty new. Especially when you got shoved into the sim almost right away. Do you want to do something in the medical field for work?
no subject
( Until they'd gotten out. Which they had. No thanks to Scott. )
I think maybe? At least at first? It's what I know. Or, partially know.

@drake.holloway
I've been keeping the Safehouse projects going, I don't really have the money to upgrade the VR like Angela was doing (and I think people might be skittish about using it after we were all just caught in a simulation) but we always seem to need more curtains hung and more creature comforts in the kitchen and game room. And nobody ever wants to clean the bathrooms, I swear I wind up doing it every time I come by.
Not glamorous, but it'd help out.

Wait, when did we start talking about Fight Club? Is that not the first rule any more?
( The sad thing is, he's half serious. )
I can help with all of that. I help fix up my mom's house. I had to replace a whole window once. Don't ask.
I asked someone else, but, it sounds like you're around here a lot? So, if I were to take up the mantle of Welcome Committee captain, what would I have to do? Or, what should I do?
no subject
...you know when you say don't ask you immediately make someone like a hundred times more curious, right?
As for a Welcome Committee, I've been kind of low key on that front. It'd be easier actually still living there, though, so if you wanted to just make sure there's always stuff for the newbies -- I've been buying decent clothes and snacks when I can afford them, making sure the entertainment stuff is in order, trying to introduce myself if I spot someone I don't recognize and see if they have any questions about the place or just need a friend or company?
no subject
Yeah, I could do all that.
Is... would helping after the fights, is that... legal? Like, is there a payroll?
no subject
You know, I never asked into it myself but my roommate pretty much fights for a job and he's paid through proper channels. I think the betting on them is the illegal part, but the clubs themselves are billed as entertainment? I can ask around if you want to be sure.

@robert.plant
if you find out what they're doing to the safe house and it involves welding, do me a solid and let me know
unless they're teaching that in freshman orientation now
no subject
If welding comes up, I'll let you know. I'd learn if the opportunity did come up. If that's you offering or you would. Offer.
no subject
They teach you how to access the music repository yet?
If yes, do you listen to garbage?
If yes, are you willing to turn that crap off and listen to actual music while I teach you?
no subject
No, but music is subjective, right?
I like music, I'm sure I'll like whatever you play to teach me.
So. Yes, if you want to help.
What would garbage music be?
no subject
Garbage music would be any of that hipster new age jonas brothers imagine dragons ed sheeran enya wind chimes on binaural beats nonsense
