[In truth, Goro Akechi is no leader or great organizer of the people. His approach to things like this is selfish at best, but he wants to make sure that no one is going to get in his way.
The reality is that he sees the opportunity behind this all. But at the same time, he has someone caught that he cares about. That he needs to be able to reach.
And thus, he's divided: between his worst inclinations and his worries. Regardless, there's no reason to reveal his hand.
Thus, he does this. He doesn't see any point in provoking who's "left behind," not like he did early in Zerzura.]
I believe it would behoove us to have a place to talk away from Cassius' prying "eyes."
