@stephen.strange
For those of you I haven't introduced myself to yet, my name is Dr. Stephen Strange.
The more recently arrived may not know but thanks to the generosity of Morningstar we own two buildings in New Amsterdam: one is the garage above the current safehouse and the other is a bar under the sports stadium in the city.
The latter we intend to open soon as Red Wings, a working sports bar, with a view to ensuring financial independence and security for us as a group going forward. It's been in the works for a while, will operate under the management of myself and [Bad username or site: clarke @ griffin], and we're looking for a staff.
We'll need bar staff and security for busier periods. We're aiming to create as much opportunity as possible, so if you're interested don't hold back on letting us know. There's no application, no bar work experience necessary, we'll just need to speak with you to figure out suitability and availability. If you're interested in a security position I need to stress that power use is absolutely out of bounds, so experience will be a little more important here.
If any of the more financially established of you can volunteer time or resources while we get this off the ground, that will also be appreciated. Any of you with significant Cooltalk followings, I'd like to talk about collaborating to help us hit the ground running.
Any questions, interest checks, etc, you can get in touch with me here or with Clarke or myself personally via direct message.

private!
We need all the help we can get. I don't think we're going to have the luxury of a quiet life.
[ When you attain minor celebrity, know a bunch of minor to major celebrities who like to drink and then start a sports bar under a sports stadium ]

I think I'm suitable, I was military back home but I know how to disable people without hurting them. And I just got here and have nothing else to do, I'd be available as much as you needed.

I'll be compiling a list and putting a rough work schedule together soon. It's our intention to provide as many hours as we can. It may shift and change as we get a better idea of how popular we are but we plan to provide you with enough to earn a living if that's what you want.

Can I ask one favor when you're making the schedule?

Alright.
Is there a specific concern?
[ The people he's known to use false names have typically done so across the board with everyone. This seems like something slightly different: either this man is a generally cautious person, a potentially suspicious person, or there's something to pinpoint here.
Secrets haven't typically been good for morale. ]

When I entered this name, I didn't know that an enemy from home was here. That's why I'm not using the network publicly.
It shouldn't be a problem at work.

Somehow, this is the first time he's come across this. It was a point of major discussion a few months back, the possibility of threats to them being brought in with the rest. ]
Will it be a problem anywhere else?
[ Enemy is a strong word. ]

[ It's an extremely complicated situation, at least on Wash's end, that he's willing to discuss but not over the network, even privately. ]
I can meet you to discuss it, if you want, and I'll understand if you don't want to take the risk.

[ A location pindrop to make that a little easier. ]
--> action
[ Just as he says, Wash is there as soon as he finds his way. The door is unlocked but he still knocks as if it were someone's home rather than a place of business, albeit one that's not open for business yet. He can tell it's in the final stages of setup... reminds him a little of places he used to go on leave nights when he was still in the traditional military. ]
Hello? Dr Strange?
[ And what a name that is, honestly. ]
action!
[ Stephen isn't far when the knock comes and greets his guest at the door. The greeting itself is pointed, a mildly ironic nod at straight to business— Washington, Sharpe, it makes no difference to him. All he needs is the story behind it.
A tilt of his head invites him further into the venue, passing by the bar on their way to the booth. It prompts Stephen to ask: ]
Thirsty?

[ He'll follow the good doctor farther in, though, and take the seat indicated to him in the booth. ]
I'm honestly not sure where to start.

It's your story. Start anywhere you like. I promise you I can keep up.

Alright, well... the one universal thing between all our worlds seems to be the concept of war. That's where it started... a species war that seemed impossible to win, so I switched from the standard military to an experimental program that thought they could create stronger soldiers, give us a better chance.
The guy who's got it in for me, he's human too, but also from a faction. So our squads wound up fighting for resources even though we were technically all on the same side. Neither of us were right, but we were following orders. We thought we were doing whatever it took, and that we were right. The truth came out later, but by then it was too late for everyone. Long story short, my squad killed all of his, and he doesn't care about the war or the reasons or whose fault it actually was. He wants to kill us all.
He doesn't know I'm one of them, he never saw my face. But that doesn't really matter, or that I didn't kill any of them directly. I was part of it.
